Best Tagliata di manzo I've ever had

The first time we came here we were the only customers the entire time. We all were all very pleased with our orders and I had the best meat dish I have ever had in an restorant - the Tagliate di Manzo in a vinegar/olive oil with rosemary and peppercorns. Delicious. We came back a week later... read more

Truly an experience. The food was typical of the area; local ingredients, very fresh, flavors well balanced, and done in a way that would put any upscale Italian Restaurant in the States to shame. After dinner, YOU HAVE TO ASK, to see the Etruscan tunnels, or you may not even realize the incredible experience that lies just beneath you.

Very friendly, pleasant service. Good menu and reasonable prices. A quiet Friday in March and therefore a bit lacking in atmosphere but I suspect evenings are much busier.

This restaurant wasn't our first choice, but we were so happy to end up here. VERY reasonable priced, for 44 Euro we had: - 2 large beer + 1/2 L house wine - 2 plates of the best pasta we had in Italy (truffled gnocchi and creamy artichoke pecorino ravioli - a very small but very tasty souffle (sfogat..?) -... We were in front of this restaurant asking for information about it to a colleague who had dinner here several times in the past - it happened that the former cook (and wife of the previous owner as well as mother of the present owner) was passing by and very politely popped in our conversation. In NO time we were... More

Comfortable setting, very nice menu and the food was extremely well prepared. Service was friendly. Be sure to ask to see the wine cellar; they are happy to oblige.

House wine and those big ravioli (don't remember the exact name) with ricotta and walnut were perfect. One of the best dinners we've had in Italy.

Went twice as a large group. Lovely family, good Tuscan food and wine. Service can be somewhat scattered. Outdoor seating would be a huge plus.

We went to this restaurant for lunch with our friends our first day in Chiusi. Wow. My wife and I both got a cheese ravioli dish, with pecorino cheese in a cream sauce. The most delicious flavor combinations. Absolutely the best meal of our 10 day trip to Venice and Tuscany. The server was very attentive and helpful. Simply outstanding... More

Chuisi is a relaxed and easy going Etruscan hill town right smack on the border of Tuscany and Umbria. My family has visited the area a few times and during our last visit we discovered Ristorante Zaira. The menu was imaginative with fresh ingridents and great care taken with each course. Pasta, meats and side dishes were all delicious and... More
