I would definitely recommend the chianina beef steak for dinner :) The restaurant was not open every day for dinner, during our visit to Castellina. So it will be good to make a reservation in advance and/or check when the restaurant is open.

What a lovely surprise! Our last night in Chianti we were told about this hard to find gem. The atmosphere is elegant and the food is made to match. the wine selection is plentiful and the service was appropriately elegant and friendly. I would go back again and again. The food was fresh, original yet local and beautifully presented. It...

Sonia and Francesco have figured out that some people tired of trattoria food would like to upgrade to one Michelin star fare without giving up the view, the wood-and-stone decor and the Tuscan ingredients. That's where they hit their stride. Best primi piatti? Definitely Crespelle farcite di porri e “ rosmarina “ di cinta senese su vellutata di Parmigiano profumato...

It's a regular restaurant with really fancy food. Everything was cooked specially and with sophistication. The place doesn't look so upscale but the price on the menu would make you raise your eyebrows :)
We had made a booking for this restaurant and we were considering this the highlight of our trip. However, The service was slow, they didn't even put our napkins down on our laps. When we paid our bill they hardly even acknowledged us. It really was a disappointment. The food was tasty but I think I would spend my money...

A truly lovely restaurant for those special occasions. We celebrated our Anniversary, hospitality, graciousness, & dinner with an Italian flair was the centerpiece of the evening. The chef is exceptional, along with the staff.
The restaurant was full on a Wednesday night, which is good sign I believe, it took some time until we placed our orders but the rest of the service was smooth. It is a typical Tuscan atmosphere inside. We were 6 people all and everybody tried different things, the duck, pasta, meat..and we all were pleased, wine list was good...

We decided to go to Castellina for lunch and to try a new place as we come are in Italy twice a year, and we have some of our favorite places already established but this trip wanted to try something new. The place is stunning (what's new in Chianti?) and the tables were unusually graciously appointed. The menu however, was...

The staff at the Albergaccio were most attentive and gracious and held our reservation when we were delayed in coming from Siena. The presentation for each course was thoughtful and beautiful. Each of our group of 8 commented on the quality of the meal and the wine. The terrace was a welcome refuge from the heat. It had been about...

the selection of starters was more original than the usual bruschetta + pate + lard. The wines served by the glass all of a good level.
