My wife and I are both gluten free. We recently had dinner at Albergaccio di Castellina and it was wonderful. The restaurant is a nice room on the north side of Castellina. Ultimately two things stand out at Albergaccio; the wine list and the food. The wine list is full of excellent Italian wines that are not generally available in... More

I visited this restaurant last summer for the first time. Last summer we had an amazing dinner with excellent service and value for money. This time we (two couples+dog) had a lunch. Mozzarella was typically tasty. As a main course I had wild boar - I had never eaten it before. It was excellent. Isole e Olenas Chianti Riserva was... More

The setting and ambiance of this restaurant is delightful however the same cannot be said for the food. The curry pasta with lamb tasted more like two minute noodles rather than the homemade pasta that I have come to know in Tuscany. The wild boar lacked flavour and the accompanying vegetables were cold. I would recommend going to a family... More

We were staying as a group at a villa down the hill from Castellina and had read about Albergaccio online. Returning from a day of sightseeing on a random Wednesday night, we were running late and I called around 9:45 to see if it would be possible to get a table. Through my broken Italian, they said that they close... More

Saw the sign and car park and pulled in for a welcome tea coffee and soft drinks on a tortuous car journey. The waiter was polite, the place was clean and the drinks were excellent. If it had been closer to lunchtime we would have definitely stopped for lunch. See pics

We were on our way to Siena, we passed this little village and the surrounding caught our attention. Our meals was tasty, this young waiter was very funny & helpful. Later on, I realized that this restaurant owns Michelin stars, what a surprise!

Ate a wonderful lunch here. Everything was homemade from the sausage and prosciutto to the two pastas we tried. Service was first class. Food was very tasty. Prices are to be expected with the one star rating. I would return again whenever I am in the area. Everything was first class. Just wish we could have tried some more courses.

This was a fabulous dining experience. My friends and I tried the 4 course tasting menu with matched wines. Undoubtedly, the standout dish was the duck liver pate corn bread sandwich with dark chocolate and onion jam…one of the best things I have ever tasted. The setting was cosy and the service delightful. Highly recommended!

On our trip to italy we stopped in this restaurant that had only good reviews but unfortunately we were disappointed this time. 6 people, 12 different dishes and only one was really good and was ok for the price charged. One course EUR26, two courses EUR44 and three EUR56. The primi piatti were ok but in case of the spaghettini... More

Anyone lucky enough to be in the vicinity of beautiful Castellina in Chianti, who enjoys the execution of good food should not miss out on this fantastic restaurant. From the setting, overlooking the Tuscan Hills, the building - sympathetically modernised, with its understated luxury and elegance of its decor is more than enough to delight. However, when coupled with the... More
