A nice restaurant, recommended by a wine shop. Great food, nicely done. It was bussy, and the team was under-staffed and were struggling with getting everybody happy. Food: excellent! wine: check your bill..-:) I ordered a Chianti Reserve (half a bottle at 20 euro), but they served a cheaper Chianti of 12 Euro's. . At the cash register, they corrected.... More

We stopped here for lunch when exploring the Chianti area. What looked like a usual kind of place turned out to be one of our best meals of our Tuscany week. The restaurant serves traditional local cuisine and does and excellent job. Food was delicious, staff very friendly. We had pici (the local pasta) and some other local meal the... More

We went to Tre Porte on the our last night in Castellina in Chianti. Sat inside as it was a tad chilly. Wonderful waitress and waiter - genuinely help and subtly attentive. Great thought had gone into the menu with a priority on "fresh" - if it wasn't fresh, i.e. it had been frozen, it said so. The wine list... More

We had a very nice dinner on the front terrace with good food (pizza & pasta) and a very nice and attentive (and multilingual) service.

Last time in Castellina we ate here on several occasions as the food was delicious and the service fantastic. Unfortunately things are not like they were. Whilst the meal was ok it lacked the pizzaz that it had previously where everyone walked out totally satisfied. Most noticeable however was the service. There was only one waiter for the outside area... More

Having read the good reviews we went to Tre Porte with expectations. We booked ahead to be sure of a table. When we arrived, the upstairs seemed to reserved for a function so we were sent downstairs to our table....not shown to our table, just sent downstairs. When we found our table it was right next to a continually used... More

We visit tre Porte during our trip to castellina - the antipasta was fine but the secondi - ocsobucco and lam was terrible - it was bone and fat. The service was ok but also a little stressful - it was quit expensive so overall it was not worth the money

Located in the middle of town, we had calzones on our first visit to Castellina in Chianti quite a few years ago. We have been back many times and are always impressed by the food, service and wine list. Whether you're craving pizza or a full-course meal, you'll be happy that you stopped at Tre Porte.

We came here on a very rainy afternoon for lunch after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. The restaurant is charming, appetizers were delicious and yes, the pizza is excellent! After lunch, walk down the street to L' Antica Delizia for some of the best gelato in Tuscany.
