Certainly Has Its Moments!

A beautiful restaurant above the courtyard of an old building off of an old street in the middle of town. Interior is creamy yellow with framed photos of game birds and rustic antique furniture and finishes. Associated with the Slow Food association and Michelin rated, it's obviously no slouch... read more

In the cour of what seems to be an old farmhouse in the small town of Bra a nice and well conceived restaurant with typical piemontese cuisine and delightful recipes. Well prepared old recipes adapted to the current expectations of light meals tasty and well balanced. Nice personnel and good distance between the tables favouring a relaxing conversation

We had the menu when visiting Bra in October. what a very nice town by the way. The number one restaurant in Tripadvisor so we were delighted that they were able to serve us a magnificent lunch. Enjoyed every last bite of it with wines to accompany Great quality of food and well worth the pricetag

We were eager to experience food from the birthplace of the slow food movement. Upon entering their beautiful courtyard, we were disappointed as their prices were a bit beyond our budget. After explaining our dilemma we were invited in for an appetizer and wine. We wished we had stayed for a full meal as the appetizer of raw meat was... More

My pasta with truffles was excellent and having come to Piedmont to enjoy truffles I almost felt compelled to order it. Given the many fabulous dishes on the menus, this was not easy. The barbera D'Alba 2013 Bricco dei merli was superb! Book in advance

As fans of the slow food movement for many years, my wife and I located Osteria Del Boccondivino whilst in Bra a couple of days ago. We booked a table for 7.30 and realized that our evening would be cut short by the last train back to Alba, at 8.30. Sure, we could have driven, but a) we're on holiday... More

We had no expectations of this restaurant. We knew it was the center of the slow food movement and our visit to Bra was completely unplanned and an excellent addition to our first Italy visit. We were able to get the reservation on the day we arrived for that very night. I can say that we continued to travel in... More

The food is very good with fantastic products combines on a creative way. It gives a great test experience. We ordered a test menu and some individual dishes. All perfect from start to deserts. Service is very pleasant, discreet and effective.

If this was the only meal you had in Italy, you'd be doing very well! But after a few weeks of eating in restaurants across Piemonte and Emilia-Romagna, I wouldn't describe this meal as particularly outstanding. Very typical for what you'd find in any reputable osteria. The prices are not too high and the service is friendly, though. Basically it's... More

Perhaps our expectations were too high. Since we were in the home of the slow food movement and eating at the restaurant most closely associated with that movement, we expected a great meal. It was definitely a good meal, but not great. The ingredients were excellent, certainly, and everything was simply prepared, as advertised; but at each step along the... More
