Cute restaurant

Very fun and different place to go to whilst in Bormio. Food is decent and the ambiance is nice. Go for the meat!

The atmosphere is quite unique - an ex 'cow barn' underground in a home from the 1500's.. If you are up for a romantic dinner, it's ideal, especially if you book the niche (la nicchia) - way ahead of time. The food, is truly special, with amazing combinations of hot & cold that Max - the cook - will truly... More

Dinner at Al filo was one of the most magical meals of my life. I had La grigliata bastonata or "the grilled beating" (Stick grilled with three types of meat rolled up ; venison , pork and beef) was truly amazing.

wonderful location and food of first category. Delicious from the main course till the dessert. Waiters explain courses with lots of details. I suggest you in couple because it's small and not noisy.

My two Sons and I were in Bormio for two nights, cycling the Stelvio and Mortirola Passes(me on a Ducati!). We were staying at the Sotto Vento Hotel and Mirco the receptionist recommended Al filo for our evening meal. Situated in the centre of the town we were very impressed with the atmosphere and layout. The large room must have... More

The service is spotless and kind even to a non italian visitors, trying to speak italian. If the season alows, always ask for a RAW porcini salad. It is a... More

Staying at the Nuovi Bagni Spa a few miles away (excellent), we opted for a less formal dining option. Al Filo was both recommended by the hotel and also the taxi driver who took us to Bormio. Set below ground in almost a cave, this was an unusual setting. Service and staff knowledge was excellent and they both helped with... More

As our visit to Al Filo was rather improvised, we shoved up on a Saturday evening, without a reservation. Fortunately they were able to find us a table, although we were given a time limit of 2½ hour before we would have to leave. This was plenty of time for us, so no problem. All the dishes we tasted, all... More

Fantastic atmosphere, and very good food. I have known this place for a long time, when it still was called Il Taula' and I guess if the chef is the same because the food is excellent as ever.
