We enjoyed two delectable pastas, one with funghi, the other with tomatoes. Don't be put off by the simple menu under plastic or the limited English; after you pick a sauce, you select a pasta, which arrives hot and fresh and perfectly cooked. With salads, a delicious local wine, and a shared panna cotta with seasonable strawberries, we ate well.... More

We had a great meal here, many courses served family style for about 15 of us- they were very accommodating and their mezzo maniche in some sort of red sauce was delicious. Their typical ascolana specialties- olives ascolane & cremini are great

During our day trip to the wonderful town of Ascoli Piceno, could not miss a meal in this typical trattoria/ristorante offering dishes traditionally from the Marche in a pastel colour ambiance. The two rooms with the tables nicely set are separated by an arch build with bricks. At our first attempt, there was no room for us but our patience... More

Although it looked good from outside, the meal was a real disappointment. One menu thrown on the table for 3 people. The white wine wasn't cold enough and a coke came in a tin without a glass! Food was mediocre. Service was indifferent. There are far nicer places in Ascoli Piceno.

Expectations were high given the reviews. Sad to report, our experience did not include friendly or attentive staff, or delivery of the meal as ordered (apparently potatoes had run out between the time of our order, and arrival of our meal!). A crowded restaurant including friends of the staff may have contributed distraction.

We ate lunch and dinner at La Locandiera on August 4th while attending La Quintana. None of the staff spoke english but they were friendly and with our limited Italian we were able to decipher most of the menu. The pastas and side dishes were very tasty and of sufficient quantity. The sliced Pomodori are the best, a must try.... More

What a terrific place! I wish that we knew that this was a prix fixe meal (25 euro per person) because we were a little scared that we would be presented with an astronomical bill after all of the delicious and numerous! courses. The antipasti were soooo tatsy-and I agree the ricotta was the best I have ever tasted. We... More

The antipasti were great. The primi were too salty and we didn't enjoy them. Friendly staff but it takes time.

I don't have much to say, food was even more than excellent, service great and value perfect. I will return next time I'm in Ascoli.

This is a meal I will not forget. I ordered agnello scottadito, grilled rib chops, served so hot that they might burn your fingers (scottadito). They were perfectly cooked and very flavorful - the best lamb I've every had in Italy. With the lamb, I ordered a special green called agretti that's only available for a short time in the... More
