Excellent Food and Great Service

We were recommended this restaurant by a local business person and it certainly didn't disappoint. Generous sized serves, served with a smile and humour. I liked this place but in my view it is overrated -for many reasons...-. Nice location, average good food...but finding exclusively the wines produced by the owner was really disappointing...especially if you don't like them. Especially in a city where you expect to find everywhere a certain selection. At the end of the day, why not to offer other wines,... More

Since we moved to Alba, this becomes to one of my favorite restaurants. The menu is normally quite limited with like 4 or 5 plates for each section. But everything is delicious and the price is normal. It's located just beside the Duomo, and they painted it in water green which is my favorite color. It's cozy, modern and discrete.... More

For a seasoned traveller, for an experienced men or woman, for a cultivated being who knows Beppe Fenoglio and Cesare Pavese, mithologies about the Langa, its exclusive foods, wines, truffles and secret rituals, nothing is worst than being plucked badly in Alba Cathedral square! Yes the plucking place is right in front of the Cathedral and took (I would better... More

Great spot in the center of Alba overlooking the Cathedral and below the famous Piazza Duomo 3 Michelin star restaurant guided by the excellence of chef Enrico Crippa. La Piola being the "outlet" of Piazza Duomo is certainly reflecting the quality, dedication and the professionalism of the Ceretto family .food wise absolutely fantastic job and servers were explicative and quick.... shortly... Staff unprofessional and rude, choice is very poor, food is not authentic. Instead of the Vitello tonato, that means veal with the sauce that made with tuna and capers, they serve the veal and the tuna salad that in French is used for the sandwiches. In menu was the pasta with the fresh tartuffo, they bring first the pasta... More

My local friend suggested to eat here but the place gets busy so we were there first thing during the lunch time. The place is owned by Piazza Duomo (3 stars Michelin) and serves a simple menu. We thought that the service was fine and efficient but it gets deteriorated towards the end of the meal as the place gets... More

La Piola is the "bistro" below and owned by the same folks who run the 3 star Michelin Piazza Duomo. The place was really crowded. Uncomfortably warm and stuffy. Above average prices for below average food. And service way below average. We will not go back.

We even had to take reservations in order to get a table at lunchtime in La Piola. Upon arrival we queued up for the registration at the bar. There, we were ignored by the staff and furthermore, other people were cutting the line and were placed on their tables instead. After a while, we were finally seated. The waitress just... More

We wait for 1hour for a simple pasta primo. Very bad experience. To avoid on Saturdays as the duomo place is crowded with the market's vans.
