Amazing hosts and excellent food!

Due to have a 9 month old baby we we turned up as soon as it opened. despite it not really being open the host warmly welcomed us and in true Sicilian manner took our baby for a look around the restaurant. We went on two succesive evenings, and still a lot of things left to explore on the menu. The spaghetti al ricci (urchins) are extraordinary. The same goes for all courses with spada. Ambiente is as you would expect from an Italian restaurant. Add to this a charming and very friendly host and you got all the ingredients for a... More

Based on its #1 TripAdvisor rating, we went here. After dinner, we begged reservations for the remaining two nights of our stay. These were the three best meals (all different) that we've had in 18 years of travel in europe. The chef is a maestro of the first rank and the people are all pleasant, helpful, warm and professional. This... More

Creativ, versatile, fish, meat and vegetarian. We had several fantastic meals, but the calf filet with Gorgonzola, pomegranade and pistache was definitely one of the greatest food experiences in my live.

Some people just love what they do and they are able to transmit that love through food, that's what they do at La Posada di Federico II. Dishes are traditional Sicilian cuisine at its best but with a magnificent twist. Pistachios, clementines, swordfish, they all come together to create unique and fantastic flavours. We chose what we wanted and then... More

We lucked into eating here while visiting the Valle dei Templi. What a meal! Everything we ordered was delicious - antipasti, swordfish pasta, veal chop and dessert. The location on the piazza Cavour is very lively and I suspect in the summer eating outside would be heaven.

After one month in Italy, starting in Milan, this restaurant was by far the best food in Italy. The gnocchi was home made, I know this because my mother in law makes home made gnocchi. The sword fish dish was superb, even the plate of grilled vegetables were incredible. The chef came to the table several times to make sure the... More

We ate here three nights in succession and it just kept getting better. No wonder it is number 1 in Agrigento. Normally we would try other places but weren't taking any chances after the first night. The food was superb - traditional Italian but with a twist. For example langoustines baked in gorgonzola, honey and pistachios. The service was efficient... More

We enjoyed food here. It was that expensive, the portions were generous and the service was very good. Including a bottle of medium range wine, our bill came to 265 Euros for 7 people.

Used the good advice of Tripadvisor reviews to make the decision to eat at this establishment! The food was exceptional, service was impeccable and the restaurant had a lovely old world atmosphere. The seafood linguini and the swordfish pasta dish were both very delicious.
