Charlestown in a must-visit if you are anywhere near St Austell. However we were on a tight budget and most of the restaurants were beyond our price range. The Harbourside Inn advertised that it was the "Cheapest in the area" and I believe it was. It had a lovely view of an old-rigged boat so we... read more

We'd arrived rather later for lunch when we got to Charlestown (often seen i many a seafaring drama) and had been unable to get a table at our normal haunt of the Pier House hotel. Instead we ended up next door in the Harbourside Inn. It was a fairly busy and quite noisy pub but whose menu had stated that... More

Popped into watch the Liverpool fa cup semi final. We got there early and we're lucky enough to get a beef roast. One of the best roast dinners I've had. Lots of beef and two types of potatoes and didn't scrimp on veg. Perfect

We visited this pub whilst staying locally to visit the eden project. We were made to feel welcome and the service was good. The adults' menu was great. I had the homemade fishcakes with thai sweet chilli sauce which were really nice. The children's menu was fine but, as others have said, parents would probably welcome a few veg, beans... More

Chose to eat here with our 6yo and 4yo based on family friendly sign outside. Good selection on the menu though the kids options would benefit from baked beans or peas as a side perhaps. The service was good and the food good portions at a decent price. If you want pub food without hassles in a nice location with... More

We stopped off here for a drink and what a lovely view. If the weather is good, opt for the garden at the side of the hotel where you can sit and watch the comings and goings round the harbour. We didn't eat here but the food looked hearty and people were enjoying it - a fairly standard pub menu.

Charlestown is a must see for anyone visiting Cornwall. This modern pub has a great atmosphere. The food is of high pub standard and there is entertainment most Saturday nights. Staff are very friendly.

Were meeting up with our Niece and husband, for farewell meal, after they surprised us with a visit, we all had different meals, and were all very happy with our choice, my niece's fish pie was 1 of the best she has had, her husbands fish in bessie stoggs batter was also very much enjoyed, my hubbys Mr. Kittow burger...
