Don't expect much.

When you travel to remote areas you usually don't expect reasonable food. This place didn't disappoint. While the service was ok, 3 dishes, 2 drinks and two desserts were almost 80€. Which was in my view outrageous. I definitely got the impression we were being taken advantage off. Don't get... read more

We booked because of the location a walk into the village and right on the river Soane. The rooms are small but very clean and comfortable and the hosts eager to please. The cafe next to the restaurant is frequented by locals and weather permitting there are tables outside. The menu was impressive as was the wine list, we chose... More

We was in this restaurant with our friends(5 per). There was 2 waiters who spoke a little bit English. Only one bad think was that we was tourists and they did all things for us in the end.. But dishes were not bad. The best one was small fried fishes, fish soup has very interesting taste, but nice, fantastic tiramisu... More

Typical local cuisine served by pleasant staff but non of it is inspiring. worked out at about 50Euro per head including aperitif and wine. Not disappointing but on the other hand not exciting. Just acceptable.

Have been to this restaurant a few times on account of little competition in the town. I always feel it could be so much better. There were few options and my guests all agreed that adequate summed it up. €50 a head, with two bottles of Saint Bris, aperitifs, starters and mains, just about good value. I suspect we'll be... Ambiance is that of a typical small hotel, practical but not very imaginative. The lady owner/manager served us and although she seemed all business in the beginning she was friendly, talkative and took good care of us. The Prix Fixe was around 32 Euro and all the food we had was good, the swordfish was excellent. I would go back if... More

Despite the poor reviews here the restaurant was full on a Wednesday evening. The server - the middle aged lady and owner of the hotel - was very over-worked and clearly impatient when I asked her some simple questions about the menu and the wine-list - she left us twice and made us feel uncomfortable and intimidated. When I asked... More

Not much choice in St JDL at this time of year! Food was average, service was acceptable, a bottle of French wine was very silly money. Worth driving to Auxonne (15k North) or Seurre (15k South) for more choice and much better restaurants
