A lovely old half-timbered pub in gorgeous countryside 8 miles SE of Hereford and a few miles from Ledbury, Ross and Malvern. Run by chef Stephen Bull. The pub's food is sourced from local ingredients, and there are cask ales and local cider and perry. The Butchers runs regular special food and wine evenings (dates posted on website). Large garden with stream for nice days, two roaring fires in the winter. Separate room bookable for parties. Family and dog friendly. Warm welcome.

I have had lunch here a few times so thought it was time for a review.,The last visit was with my brother when he was not in the best of health and the staff were very helpful as we needed to sit near the warmth of the fire .The food was excellent as always and the keg beers are kept... More

A small group of 8 for a last minute birthday supper. Very enjoyable and good fare to accompany the occasion. Wide selection of starters and mains. All arrive together hot and well presented with a good number of side vegetables and in hot dishes. A good selection of wines on hand to accompany a fairly broad selection of dishes from... More

This was a surprise suggestion by our friends. We have lived in this area for over twenty years and had never heard of this pub. It is an old half timbered building which was warm and welcoming with fires in each of the main rooms. The landlady was friendly and expansive. The menu was mouthwatering. It was a delightful problem... More

I have been lucky to eat here on two other occasions since September and each time have had a really good meal. There is always something a bit different on the menu and if you have dietary requirements they are happy to help. There is a dining room or you can eat in the pub but please BEWARE of the... More

Going to a pub on Christmas day is always a risk, particularly with elderly and infirm rellies and a 3 month old baby! The team at this pub were superb from 1st phone enquiry to the delicious meal we had. Something for everyone, and not just turkey.....rabbit pie, fish and one of the best buerre blanc sauces I have ever... More

Fantastic food, lovely locally sourced food. We have a fussy 8 year old daughter who at all of it, including the duck scotch egg for starters. The roast beef just melted in your mouth, the gravey was so tasty. I didn't want it to end. Couldn't fit a desert in 😟 We were so full. The staff were all very... More

Great food that not only tastes good but is unusual - in a good way, whether its haggis fritters or horseradish panne cotta. Fabulous!
