Description: A lovely old half-timbered pub in gorgeous countryside 8 miles SE of Hereford and a few miles from Ledbury, Ross and Malvern. Run by chef Stephen Bull. The pub's food is sourced from local ingredients, and there are cask ales and local cider and perry. The Butchers runs regular special food and wine evenings (dates posted on website). Large garden with stream for nice days, two roaring fires in the winter. Separate room bookable for parties. Family and dog friendly. Warm welcome.

We ate here a couple of weeks ago as we had heard many good things, We were seated in the room next to the main bar which was really cold and no one could get the fire working, we asked to be moved and sat in the main bar with the locals. We were looking for a great steak but... More

After hearing several good reports of the food at the 'Butchers', we decided to book a table for an evening meal with some friends on Thursday 5th November. What a disappointment and total waste of money. As two couples we dine out regularly and although we do not expect excellence and Michelin stars wherever we go we do expect good... More

Had Sunday lunch here with friends then came back midweek for lunch. Both time the food and service were spot on. I was really please to see the board on the wall showing where the food you ordered came from, all local. The staff although young where polite and not over bearing. The pub had a wonderful relaxed atmosphere about... More

As a family including two pub managers, we are often highly critical... There was nothing to criticise here! We left it late to book a table for 8 on a Sunday, but the welcome was warm, we were quickly served drinks and the warm friendly staff were nothing but helpful. The food was fantastic and we enjoyed a leisurely lunch.... More

Having eaten here on a number of occasions, thought it was about time I reviewed one of my favourite pubs. Home cooked food by a roaring fire was the order of the day so with a couple of friends we dropped in for dinner. Lots of locally sourced produce on the menu so we had Faggots (fantastic), pork loin wrapped... More

Really looking forward to going as the reviews on Google etc were brilliant. It was a 40 minute drive to go However what we didn't know was the review etc was a year ago!!! The pub NEEDS to update its website, remove the Michelin signs from the window & focus on what they can achieve.. To say disappointed is such... More

My wife and I went to this pub for our wedding anniversary and, in short, had an absolutely fantastic meal. The pub has a real family atmosphere and nothing was too much trouble. Food excellent, and a good selection of real ales and local ciders. We ended up as the last customers in the pub but, at no point, felt... More
