A lovely old half-timbered pub in gorgeous countryside 8 miles SE of Hereford and a few miles from Ledbury, Ross and Malvern. Run by chef Stephen Bull. The pub's food is sourced from local ingredients, and there are cask ales and local cider and perry. The Butchers runs regular special food and wine evenings (dates posted on website). Large garden with stream for nice days, two roaring fires in the winter. Separate room bookable for parties. Family and dog friendly. Warm welcome.

Wonderful Friday evening

We dropped in at the butchers for a last minute supper on Friday evening, the place always has a great buzz about it and the service that we received really was second to none, I had the selection of pork with extra thick gravy which was fantastic!

My husband and I visited whilst on holiday just down the road in Fownhope. This was very convenient for us as we could walk however I do agree with previous reviewers that commented on it's remoteness. This I would state adds to the pubs charm and made us feel incredibly grateful to get a table! The pub itself is classicand... More

This seemingly ramshackle hotel with extra low ceilings and wobbly floors has as good a pub food as you will find. The drive back to Hereford was a challenge, but well worth it. The staff are very good, we loved it

I was in Woolhope researching family history and noticed that of the two pubs in the small village The Butcher's Arms was open for morning coffee so in we popped . Having ordered 2 coffees and two generous and delicious cakes for just over £7 I looked around and it struck me that this was a remote village pub but... More

I can't believe we have lived barely 5 miles from this place & yet never been there until now. We sat outside in the garden with the stream running nearby in an idyllic summer evening & had a glorious meal. The staff are very friendly & attentive without being overbearing, good selection of beers, ciders & wines plus a relaxed... More

Found this in the Good Food Guide when we were at nearby Ledbury and were really looking forward to a good pub meal. Lovely pub in a lovely spot, but after being shown to our table and given the menu, we waited. And waited . And waited. Finally a young girl came and took our drinks order. And we waited... More

Excellent meal, great flavours carefully put together, the Roast pork was perfect as too was the homemade Honeycomb. All the staff were very helpful, we will return. Just one thing we didn't like...the heavy outdated cutlery, maybe its time for a change?

We found this pub/restaurant by accident as a friend was staying a short distance away and thought it was worth a try. It is really excellent and well worth travelling for, given its relatively isolated location. There was an emphasis on locally-sourced produce, and the food the four of us had was all great, both well-prepared and high quality, with... More
