Description: A lovely old half-timbered pub in gorgeous countryside 8 miles SE of Hereford and a few miles from Ledbury, Ross and Malvern. Run by chef Stephen Bull. The pub's food is sourced from local ingredients, and there are cask ales and local cider and perry. The Butchers runs regular special food and wine evenings (dates posted on website). Large garden with stream for nice days, two roaring fires in the winter. Separate room bookable for parties. Family and dog friendly. Warm welcome.

Yet another fabulous meal at this great pub. We have visited the Butchers Arms several times so far this year and the food just keeps getting better. The staff are attentive and super friendly, they can't do enough for you. The service is good and the quality of the food is excellent. I love the inviting open fire and it... More

Really good lunch - all 4 of us were very pleased. Local ingredients prepared and produced in interesting ways without being too fussy or fancy. Some of us had pheasant in mushroom and whisky sauce, others local asparagus, for example. Service helpful and friendly without being intrusive. Our dog was made welcome too. The pub is under new management. We... More

Managed somehow to get an almost last minute table for two. Staff were friendly the second you walked through the door, food was excellent. Lovely little place with lovely views too, and will definitely be going back there and telling friends about it

The Butchers was taken over last September, as it was a pub we always liked, we went today with a bit of trepidation. It far exceeded our expectations. The food was superb, the local cider a real find and the atmosphere has lightened to become a real joy. All this and they now have dogs in the bar, where you... More

We decided to give the new owners another chance - we love The Butchers Arms and have seen a number of changes in ownership over the past 18 years. After a good start we had a simply dreadful meal in late October but this time it was much better. Good to see Jamie still front of house and some old... More

We've eaten here several times so can give a representative view. This ancient, timber framed pub-restaurant is well worth searching out. Very good quality food and drinks in a traditional setting. Excellent service and friendly for people and dogs. The only negative is the smoky fire if, like me, you're asthmatic, but we still go-there is a less smoky room... More

This updates my previous review which predates the current owners. Sorry to say that the place still lacks atmosphere. Quite cold, despite the log fire. We were there on Wednesday and were told that they are closed from Sunday lunchtime until Tuesday when the fire is re-lit "and it takes all day Tuesday to warm the place". Based on our... More

Very good atmosphere roaring fire, warm welcome. Very nice meal, reasonable bill, we will go again. Be careful of the very low beams!! We arte local so no problem finding it but might be difficult for someone out of area. Worth looking for though. We had lamb, salmon and sea bass all lovely.
