A lovely old half-timbered pub in gorgeous countryside 8 miles SE of Hereford and a few miles from Ledbury, Ross and Malvern. Run by chef Stephen Bull. The pub's food is sourced from local ingredients, and there are cask ales and local cider and perry. The Butchers runs regular special food and wine evenings (dates posted on website). Large garden with stream for nice days, two roaring fires in the winter. Separate room bookable for parties. Family and dog friendly. Warm welcome.

Good local cooked produce at reasonable prices

Great atmosphere and very attentive staff. Thoroughly recommend the haggis starter. Food was beautifully cooked and really good portions. Well worth checking out. The chef/ownerPhil, brings a lot of character to this pub!

As you go into the Butchers, they conveniently have left construction hats for use by tall customers, you'll need them, the beams are so low Snow White and her seven mates need to bend down to miss them! BUT, if you want quaint old English country pub, with a roaring winter fire beams and a very clean and tidy establishment with... More

Brilliant food at this pub that is steeped in history. Would thoroughly recommend the Woolhope Rabbit pie a very tasty dish or the pheasant. Frankly anything on the menu would be a dish to remember. Very relaxing evening served by a lovely waitress.

Delicious food (especially fish) served with a smile and flourish in a warm old pub atmosphere - well worth the detour !! Also has excellent local beer and of course ciders. Mind your head on the low beams (although they are padded).

Had Sunday lunch here for my dads birthday. It was so nice to see a menu on a Sunday that didn't offer just a roast! Everything was brilliant, the food the service, the roaring Fire, the atmosphere & best of all its dog friendly!

An unplanned visit after walking dogs in nearby Haugh Woods. Warm welcome, great selection of local beer & cider. Food local, expertly prepared and wonderful presentation. Definitely on list of great pubs.

A warm welcome in this old fashioned country village pub..comfy and warm inside with great selection of food and drink. Food is gastro style pub food which looked great and tasted even better! Open fire and low beamed ceilings topped off a great atmosphere inside. We will be back!! Plus its dog friendly too which is a bonus.
