Excellent hors d'oeuvres

We enjoyed the menu at 21 euros starting with an excellent buffet of hors d’oeuvres including a range of shellfish, charcuterie and salads. We liked our main course choices, a beef brochette and salmon with beurre blanc. The pitcher wines were not good, so we ended by ordering a bottle. This is... read more

We had lunch here in the shady garden at the front of the restaurant. The atmosphere was typically French, the food was 1st class, especially the hors d'oeuvres, which was basically an eat-as-much-as-you-want buffet, with a huge selection of sea food, meats, dips etc. Complimentary oysters were thrown in! Excellent service, delightful staff. To be recommended.

pure chance we found this place, looking for a hotel - we stayed here, so decided to eat in the 'in-house' restaurant Le Medieval - had a table on the terrace in front of the hotel (it's more a restaurant than a hotel) Great food, very reasonable, all local produce, well presented, many went for the seafood buffet but we... Well appointed al fresco restaurant in the centre of ths small town. The service is friendly and the food is excellent. La patronne will even carry two suitcases at a time, up the two flights of stairs to your room - if you are staying. Formidable woman! But she can take the 'mick' on prices. 8 euros for a portion... I visited with two friends in early December and was very pleased with this charming well-run restaurant. Despite its being a wet cold day, there were enough customers in the large dining-room to give a cheery atmosphere but I can imagine in summer it would be packed. The winter dining-room is at the rear, but there is also a front... More

And super meal...we were on a self guided tour and several other restaurants throughout the week made us feel as if they were doing us a favor by hosting us. Not Le Medieval. They were lovely and the meal memorable
