The food was excellent, my girlfriend had a chicken stir fry which was packed with flavor while I had the special of the day the hake which was so fresh. Would highly recommend .
We ate here three times during our recent holiday in Ireland. This a typical pub/eatery that gets very busy during the day. The food is excellent, perhaps the quantities are a bit too large. The signature sea food chowder is amazing a whole meal in itself. There is a large menu and good variety of local seafood. The service can suffer... More
We stopped here for lunch on our way to loop head .We had the crab claws and were amazed at the small size of the claws and indeed the overall portion size way to small for the price charged Wine by the glass at 6.45 a go was to say the least extortionate On the plus side service was friendly... when I asked the waiter what he recommended he stated that the mackerel had arrived off the local fisherman's boat 30 minutes ago...it was amazing. the restaurant has a great classic Irish Pub decor but updated and clean and stylish.
On the way home after spending the holiday weekend in Loop Head a group of us stopped off here for lunch. We eventually spent the whole afternoon and early evening seated outside enjoying fabulous food and great craic(my mackerel with lemon butter was a truly great dish). We all ate once and some of us had two meals over our stay,... My Wife and I enjoyed a meal at the Long Dock during the marvellous heatwave. My Wife had a Fish Pie and I had Mackerel with Lemon Butter - both of us agreed that the two meals were super and enjoyable. We were served by welcoming and efficient staff and we both look forward to returning. Mile Buiochas!!!!!
I have been going to the Long Dock since I was a child, my family used to comment on the amazing chowder, but I wasn't a fish lover as a child so took no notice. Having been away from Carrigaholt for a number of years, upon my return I decided as I was no longer a fish hater that I... More
After hearing people rave about the Long Dock for many years, we decided to pay a visit last saturday lunchtime. The service was excellent and being fairly quiet there were no delays.. Mrs S chose the scallops which were meant to be served with a beurre noisette. The scallops were large, fresh and tender however at 25 euro, it would... More
Stopped here for lunch on a day trip with my mother on a lovely warm day in June and what a lovely lunch we had, eating outside, watching the passing traffic and people, basking in the warm sunshine and eating gorgeous food. We shared a bowl (very big) of steamed mussels which were plump and juicy tasting of the sea... More
