Hoppin' in the Griddle

First discovered The Long Hall in the '90s when I brought my two daughters on a driving tour of west Clare. Since then I've been back several times, in different circumstances but it remains, to this day, one of my 'go to' places on the road west. The joke is, though, it's not that easy to find... read more

Reccomended by local friend and came out from Kilrush for tea at the weekend. A seafood restaurant across the street from where the Carrigaholt Bay fishing boats moor. Wish we could have managed a second lunch as the menu and food being served around us looked and smelt excellent. Instead we added some home-baked cookies to enjoy with our pot... More

Really nice bar, old school type place. But I thought the prices were a bit much €13 for starters crab claws, being a town on the coast I thought they should be good so looked for it to be a main. €26 for 16 small crab claws. I bought a kilo later in the day for €15. Bit of a... More

Had dinner with my kids and parents here last night. We sat out on the street. It was amazing in the sunshine and the seafood pizza and fish was delicious. Service from the ladies was great very patient with the kids. Thank you. We all had a lovely time.

Friendly staff, good menu, plenty to choose from. Tasty and well presented. Service was very good. They aim to please. €25 for starters, main meal and pint. Chips are French fries type, chunky is my preference. Parking is on the roadside. Tables outside, not always in service. Couldn't make a reservation, we were told to queue. Fortunately there wasn't one... More

The Long Dock Restaurant never disappoints us. It has a warmth and friendliness combined with good food. They fully support the idea of local suppliers and they only serve up the very freshest and flavoursome food. We have had many great experiences with hosts Tony & Imelda are superb hosts and all staff are very friendly. We returned for lunch... More

I have been coming to the long dock for last 20 years nearly. And it never disappointed as we live just outside Ennis thought a run out for mothers day would be nice. We both had the mother day special good value for €18 prawn salad starter follow by lamb for me & turkey with ham for my wife. Both... More

I usually look forward to coming here...being a local..it made it easy to go whenever it suited. I found the quality of food, although better than most restaraunts, lacking. The service was left to one elderly lady, who although knew and attended keenly to the regulars, picking up takeaway, left her tables lacking, and seemed to be struggling as we... More

Absolutely gorgeous seafood from the very of the Atlantic Ocean and cooked perfectly. Try to go outside of the main much and dinner times... More
