Excellent

Lo Cagarol is for some years now on our shortlist when we visit The area. Also this time we enjoyed with the family an excellent diner in a nice ambiance. Still one of my favorite restaurants in the area.

We enjoyed a fantastic late lunch here recently... We found the service to absolutely spot on- friendly and helpful - and am therefore a little surprised by previous reviews. With regard to the two dogs- again- absolutely hilarious and I didn't see them cause anything other than giggles amongst the diners. The real treat here is the food - unusual... More

We ate here as part of a walking group of 20 people. The location is a genuine pretty French village. The service was dreadful even by French standards. When we sat down we were ignored for about half an hour. Part of the reason for this was because our group split and sit at different tables at first. But in... More

We stumbled upon his restaurant while touring Cathar Country. On our way to Minerve, we came across this restaurant, located in an old "circular" village. We had the three-course set lunch from the small menu, which was reasonably priced and well-prepared. Others have complained about the two dogs who are associated with the establishment, either roaming the nearby main street... More

The set lunch at this restaurant is terrific value. The food is excellent, with interesting choices; indeed all our dishes were delicious. The accompanying wine (included in the price) was also good. However the service was a let down: charmless and verging on the surly. I wonder whether the waitress would rather be doing anything other than working here. She... More

We tried bot lunch and dinner here and were not disappointed. If you don't like animals around, the 2 dogs could be an issue, however don't let them spoil what is a truly lovely setting. Both food and wine were up to the standards we expect. The service was slow on the evening, however it was a lovely night.

I'll start with the good bits. Excellent Menu du Jour at €16. That's it, the rest was awful! The 'service' was delivered at snails pace by a stone faced waitress who did not smile once during the whole meal. The Patron, similarly unsmiling, lurked in the background apparently just hanging on for closing time. The two resident dogs roamed around... More

I have been coming to this restaurant for 12 or 13 years and it is still one of my favourites. The ambience in the tiny village square is one of its attractions, but the main attraction is the food. Although the menus seem not to be quite as varied and ambitious as they once were, it still offers one of... More

Our second visit to this restaurant in two years and it did not disappoint. We had the menu du jour and starter, main and dessert were all excellent. The food is beautifully presented and tastes AMAZING! Extremely good value for the quality of the food. Lovely ambiance, beautiful village. We would return to this restaurant again and again, it is... More

Christophe, patron, came out to meet my partner and me when we ordered a bottle of Moët et Chandon to celebrate our purchase of a French property. This, needless to say, went down very well and indeed did the tapas. This is the third visit and they gave all been extremely enjoyable experiences. The food is a delight. The staff... More
