If you’re looking for a friendly independent pub restaurant in the picturesque Faversham area, then look no further. Local beers, wines & ciders and a choice from the constantly changing selection of unique homemade dishes from our blackboard come as standard in our family-run country pub. Tucked away in an area of outstanding natural beauty between the historical towns of Maidstone, Ashford and Faversham, The Plough inhabits a unique space amongst Kent’s rolling hills and lush farmland. Our unspoilt surroundings in ‘The Garden of England’ create the perfect setting for enjoying the fresh, locally-sourced meals we serve here. Just come and see for yourself. There’s plenty to see and do nearby, and we’re a great stop-off for walkers and cyclists alike. A short drive from Faversham is medieval Leeds Castle, the home of Catherine of Aragon in the sixteenth century, with parts dating back to the early 1100’s. We also enjoy stunning views out to Herne Bay, a popular Victorian seaside town known for its pier, pretty shingle beach and pastel-coloured huts along the seafront. Other local attractions are Farming World in Faversham for a day of family fun, and some of Kent’s leading vineyards for those who are young at heart. Whether you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy a warm and lazy afternoon taking in the stunning views from our gardens or seeking the unbeatable cosiness of an open log fire in the winter, we look forward to welcoming you to The Plough Inn.

We booked at the last minute wanting to try something different and having heard good reviews from friends about the latest landlords. I cannot fault a thing, the pub has managed to keep some traditional pub features but was a warm inviting atmosphere with great seating and some interesting twists such as a table in the fireplace. The staff and... More

Had dinner here with a friend. Nice venue and we had a decent sized table. Service was inattentive which was a little frustrating. The food was just ok. The warm bread was nice and extra was brought to go with the terrine (which came without) without fuss. My fish was swimming in butter though and was overcooked. My friend's triple... More

My mother in law chose this lovely country pub to celebrate her birthday with the family, after having had a good meal here previously. We were the only booking in for lunch apart from a number of people having pub snacks outside and the service was very slow. We waited at least ten minutes before being offered a drink despite... Something happened a couple of years ago. This place was taken over by new owners and they've completely overhauled the place. Very friendly front of house staff, consistently fantastic food, brilliantly orldeworlde setting. If I had one criticism id say the 'dinning room' seating area is quite dated and could do with a spruce up, but other than that this... More

I visited for lunch on Maundy Thursday, which was blessed with sunshine for the whole visit. The 660 bus from Faversham stops right outside. There were three real ales available, all of them local and perfectly kept and served. I ate wonderful brown shrimp croquettes - whole shrimps in a light batter and served with delicious saffron mayonnaise. This was... More
