lovely meal at lunch time

We had lunch here in november, it has a very relaxed atmosphere as many diners are in their robes from the spa. The food was excellent but we found the portions a little large, no room for desert, if you have a sweet tooth skip the starter

We enjoyed the food here very much but I think it is definitely in need of a refurb. It is fine to eat during the day but it lacks ambience on an evening.

Nice simple meal in a friendly restaurant. Only one complaint which needs to be addressed. We were served a pint of beer in a warm glass!

Would insist on eating in the Orangerie next time, or would go to the Royal Oak. + sirloin steaks were prime 28 day aged cuts, cooked to perfection. + fish and chips were huge in portion size. - service was rank amateur. The waitress bellowed that we were on some deal as if we had deliberately opted for some 'cheap'... More

Ate in brasserie instead of orangery for a change - wanted something more low key. Food Poor , service ok. Ambience ok. Not bad. Just not great either. depends what you are looking for. Have had much better pub food - and better atmosphere too! I think if you stay here then choose the Orangery to eat.

Lived up to expectations, delicious food, attentive and thoughtful staff despite clearly being busy. The beautiful setting added to the experience and have already booked to return.
