Best roast in a long while

Visited with our parents, children under four and dog. Booked a table in advance. Service a little slow but maybe short staffed. However, food excellent! Was the best roast dinner we have all had for a while (sorry mum and dad!). Sticky toffee pudding for dessert was also superb! The kids play area... read more

The best burger around and very reasonably priced. All burgers are handmade and an excellent range of sides to go with it.

OK pub fayre. Friendly welcome. My meal choice was very ordinary, but fresh & tasty. Good value too. Given another option & hindsight I'd drive a little further & find an alternative.

Considering me and my husband only live 3 miles from this pub, we'd never up until last week visited this pub, we had heard that the food was good and thought we'd give it a go. we arrived just after 12.30 on a sunny Friday lunchtime and found an empty table at the front of the pub, we went inside... Wednesday lunchtime, the bar is empty and there are about 10 people in the restuarant. Having just completed a 3 hr. walk, we opted for the bar , enjoyed good hand-pulled ales and between the 3 us ordered 1 starter and 3 main courses from both the standard menu and the specials board. Approximately half an hour later the mussels... More

The Dog is a lovely looking pub with pretty outside seating areas and olde worlde interior. It's well managed, clean and dog friendly. The beer is reasonably well kept, although I have had the odd rank pint in the past. The food is the big disappointment for me. The prices are average but portion sizes are mean. On our last... Six of us visited for a family get-together meal on a quiet mid-week evening. Great looking pub. The restaurant is spacious and airy. Nice ales on offer. The main menu wasn't vast but there was something there for everyone's taste. There is a specials board with good options too. The food was lovely. I had the salmon, which was delicious.... More

The road had diversions on so we ended up here and we were not disappointed Lovely old world pub inside with a quality restaurant - food was superb - we have taken friends there for lunch since and the standards were just as high. £25 each for a good 3 course meal with soft drinks (well a couple of g... I had been reading A Wicked Deed by Susannah Gregory so we decided to pop down to Grundisburgh where it is set. The Dog is mentioned in the book as serving the best food in the village so we decided to see if anything had changed since 1353.... We were not disappointed. Excellent ale and imaginative vegetarian choices. We sat... More

Had the pleasure of eating here the other day and was very impressed, I had Kipper pate to start with a pint of Adnams dry hopped lager, a perfect match, then a really nice, tasty and well-cooked Onglet steak (it was steak night with a very good choice) and wanted to have a glass of the recommended Malbec but sadly...
