We visited The Dog last week whilst on holiday in Suffolk. We were impressed the moment we walked in with our dog, and the welcome we received could not have been warmer or more genuine. Dogs are welcome throughout, and not only was Tilly given a biscuit she had a whole bowl of them presented to her! Good choice of... More

Last night we had a brilliant meal at the dog. Pigeon breast to start was delicious, followed by chicken breast in a great source. My wife had the potted trout followed by the pigeon as a main course. The cost for the two of us £45.00 which included a pint of ale and a bottle of house wine! I would... More

Prices and setting of a country pub, the food of a much more expensive restaurant. The food is excellent here, a bit unexpected for a country pub. The menu is great value for the quality, a real gem. The chefs are creative and use fresh, local and seasonal ingredients, all for a very good price meal. I recommend this to... More

Went for lunch and had the burger; you can tell it was homemade with great quality mince, flavour combination was excellent - tangy sharp cheese, sweet onion relish and sour pickles. My wife had the 3 bean chilli tortilla and that was great too. Staff and service was also top notch, I think 1 of the team were new that... More

I've just returned home and thought I must write my first review! I ordered the 'onglet' steak it was perfectly cooked (rare) and the flavour was great. Highly recommended. Also the salted caramel tart was a perfect following.

My girlfriend and I ate at the Dog's Thai NIght last night, and it was nothing short of perfect!! The food was bursting with flavour, the atmosphere superb, and the service outstanding! Coupled with some great wine selections and local Thai beer to wash it all down with. Portion sizes where spot on and the prices where extremely reasonable. This... More

My family and I went to the 'Dog' last night - it was empty ... perhaps because prices have risen and standards slipping?. We have been many times over the last year or so - we keep giving it another chance as it was a really friendly pub! Yet staff changes, really 'foul' language at the bar (not good for... More

Stopped by for lunch. Had their eggs and Suffolk ham. Wow! It was fantastic. Well worth the drive from Ipswich.

Arrived at a busy time with a lot of people eating outside although inside was quiet. Wasn't asked if we had booked which we had so were put at the closest table to where we were standing which was next where the food came out so was a bit noisy, would have preferred to sit elsewhere but had assumed when...
