We are now in our 21st year at the Blacksmiths, we are a family owned, family run, traditional, independent freehouse country pub. We like to think that service, value for money and a friendly welcome go hand in hand. We are not part of some faceless corporation - we are just a hard working family who wants to give you the best food and dining experience that we possibly can. We are not robots - we are only human and on rare occasion make mistakes, tell us and we'll put it right - thats our commitment to you - our valued customers, family and friends.

Another visit another brilliant night.

We had 18 in our party, what a brilliant night, food, service and host was absolutely brilliant, Katherine even played along and presented my husband with a desert with a candle in even though it wasn't his birthday... He had, had their lives all night that it was his birthday. Thank you.

We had a fantastic meal last Friday the steaks were perfectly cooked at our table on stones. The desserts were great, the sticky toffee pudding was amazing. Definitely worth a visit.

We have not been here for a while and what a mistake. This lovely village pub offers a warm friendly welcome. The use of technology means your orders are taken without fuss or error. We had steak on the stone cooked at the table by the chef to our taste who although busy was cheery and attentive and explaining his... More

My husband and I and my sister and brother in law came to celebrate there wedding anniversary. The service was excellent. The food (three of us had steak on the stone) and a mixed grill was absolutely gorgeous. The starters were lovely. The steak was so delicious. Not had steak on the stone before, the young chef was excellent, telling... More

We visited on Saturday night for our Anniversary. It was fairly busy when we arrived, we had a drink in the bar and checked out the menu. My husband had already done his research on what he was having before we arrived, he wanted to try the very popular Steak on a Stone, i chose to go for Chicken with... More

My friend and I visited The Blacksmith's Arms for lunch recently. It was our first visit and won't be the last! The food was excellent, the service very friendly and the restaurant spotless. Although it wasn't possible that day, the outside seating looked incredible so we are looking forward to a sunny evening meal in the near future!

Myself and my family visit the Blacksmiths Arms in Swainby very regularly for Sunday lunch and other evenings through the week and find the food is always to a high standard, staff can't do enough and nothing is to much trouble. The pub is always clean and welcoming and caters for the whole family, would recommend it to everyone.

A lovely free house pub. Very friendly owner and very attentive. The food is very nice. Black pudding in a creamy sauce was tasty but a little too much sauce. The steak was very tender but they only serve it "medium" and would have preferred a choice to have it "rare" not sure if this is only at lunch times... More
