You don't just happen to see this place while driving. It is located in an ancient piazza called Fileto near Villafranca, Italy. Recommended by people that own the place we stayed at, they got us in on a busy Sunday. The appetizer we ordered was probably the best I ever had and was made from simple fresh ingredients. Our pasta... More

We have dined at 'Sopra' several times, and we are always delighted by the excellent food, the beautiful surroundings, and the lovely, warm welcome from Tiziana Falorni and her daughters Laura and Chiara. Yesterday they surpassed themselves, providing a wonderful feast that culminated in a 'sorpresa' for dessert, which they resolutely refused to describe, but which turned out to be... More

Very good food in this family restaurant run by mother (the real "soul" of the kitchen) and two daughters (one doing great desserts and the other helping servicing the tables and quite charmy). Also very nice location in the beautiful square in Filetto, an amazing old village...a must see in Lunigiana.

Had our dinner in the small courtyard adjecent to the restaurant. The family prepared an excellent meal that we enjoyed fully. A reference for local traditional cuisine in a pleasant, calm setting. Personalised service is added as an extra bonus.

Based on reviews here we celebrated my birthday over a late lunch being the only customers (others having siesta). The reviews promised a lot but we were still amazed about the friendly atmosphere, superb food and exceptionally pleasant bathroom. In addition, the ladies played with our little baby girl while we were having our pasta. We highly recommend this restaurant!... More

This is an excellent restaurant ,where the food is cooked with both love and passion! Tiziana and her daughter explain all the dishes in great detail [in Italian, which is fine for me] with the odd bit of translation into English.Much depends on what top quality products are in season and available at the markets at the time. There is a... We have dined here on a number of occasions, including Christmas lunch. The restaurant serves fine food from Lunigiana, often with a modern twist. Ingredients are locally sourced and of a high quality. Traditional dishes are adapted to work with local ingredients in season and are mouth watering. The presentation is excellent and reflects the care that the restaurant takes... More

We went during the mediaeval at Filaeetto and were seated outside where we had a really good view of the event. It was a set mediaeval menu which was imaginative(and delicious) and the service, despite being very busy, was very good and the owner friendly. A lovely place to go and a superb setting.
