Return visit to this place, having been there 5 years previously on another holiday. Both times great food. This time ate their for dinner and lunch. Big portions (especially dinner), really good food. Be sure to check out the variety of cakes in the fridge which are a) really good and b) massive portion sizes. Be mindful that as this... More

We lunched here and had an excellent hot sandwich. The roll was very fresh and there was lots of filling. It was very busy and is obviously very popular with locals and visitors. Very friendly staff. Excellent value for money. It also appears to be an art gallery and tourist information point. Worth a visit.

Just back from another phenomenal feed at the green tea house. If this place was in London it would have Michelin stars and Catherine would be...err...pope! So lucky to have this place on our doorstep. One criticism, when it comes to deserts, Catherine makes Raymond Blanc look like Mr Kipling, but I never have room!! Special mention to the staff,... We called for a coffee and a snack. The fruit scone was lovely and the gingerbread delicious. Unfortunately cinnamon was sprinkled on our coffees. We didn't complain but think customers should be asked first. Much prefer chocolate sprinkled on top. Staff were lovely. The cafe was very busy and obviously well liked. Would visit again.

Recent visit with 5 friends and lucky to get a table I believe. This place must be gaining a good reputation. Although my main course was a bit disappointing - lentil and vegetable pie - it had no pastry and was more or less a vegetarian stew with a bit of spicing, the dessert's were out of this world. We... Feel awful doing a bad review for this place, maybe our expectations were too high. Cold is the word I would use, cold coffee, cold building, despite being huddled at the fire we were frozen on not a particularly cold day. The food we had was mediocre, maybe just our choice wasn't great. Also a bit off putting all the... More

What a nice wee spot in this lovely village. A real gem. Warm and welcoming with a real fire to sit around as you decide on a very varied range of food. All home made and a large selection of vegetarian and vegan food. Portions were large and good value for money. No liquor license BUT you can pop next... More

We escaped Glencaple while building work was going on in our house and decided on Moniaive for lunch. Good choice. Not many people about but the welcome and food was fantastic. I had a nut roast to die for (stuffed with cashews and all sorts). Rob had good beef lasagne. Both came with green salad, beetroot, couscous. Very good food... More

Popped here for a late lunch. Both had the haggis toastie which was amazing. It was accompanied by a side salad (not just leaves!) which topped the meal off. Fantastic food in a lovely setting, very cosy. Highly recommend this eaterie.

Decided to stop here for lunch with my work college, its was mid week so wasn't very busy. Not bad menu, thought that 5 different soups for starters was a bit much to options would of been suffice, however we both ordered a bowl, it was decent but the portions were far to big. I had smoked chicken terrine salad,... More
