Have been out for dinner here on three occasions in last 6months and have found food to be consistent.the pork loins are a treat, the fruit meringue (pavlova) is to die for and better than the eton mess.ive recently had the fish pie which was filling.the service is good from the younger staff and the restaurant is intimate although you... We were a party of six walkers (all male) staying for one Saturday night. We had read various reviews, most of whom had waxed lyrical about the rather grumpy, unwelcoming landlord, who sounded something like a cross between Basil Fawlty and Stalin. However, we were not put off by this and relished the challenge. We are thick-skinned individuals and happen... More

Very disappointing meal here tonight. Had the Mackerel special which for £6 was not value for money at all, and for main my wife had the pork loin which was dry and over cooked. Raised our concerns about the meal which was ignored when we paid the bill. Very poor. We will not be going there again.

Having heard mixed reviews about The Wolds Inn, a friend invited us to have a meal there. The staff were very helpful when I explained about my food alergies. I had Duck in orange sauce, which was beautiful. The mixed grill my husband and friend had was plentiful. because of my dairy problem I was given vegitables and new potatoes... More

After a pleasant and scenic drive out of Hull last Saturday evening, we arrived at The Wolds Inn in Huggate for our booked meal - billed as the highest Inn in the Wolds.. As a Scot, I very much welcome the opportunity to visit traditional English village pubs (especially those with a bit of history attached), as I generally find... More

I had been recommended the Wolds Inn on a few occasions so we decided to try it yesterday (Tuesday). We travelled 20 mins and met up with some friends. Drinks and service was fine but 3 of the meals were very poor and I do not normally take the time to write a review but we were so disappointed. My... More

As the title say's, the food we all had was excellent as was the hand pulled bitter. However I think the proprietors may have either chosen the wrong profession or have had enough of the pub game and need to hang their aprons up!

I have visited this pub several times over the past few years. The food is generally acceptable but service is gruff at best, always slow, often rude. You are not made to feel welcome. Mobile phone reception in Huggate is non existant, and the pub claims to offer free wi fi for guests - Not so. As a cyclist passing... More

This as described by many reviews is a lovely spot with great views. The food is good, not amazing but very good, served promptly. Don't expect to be blown away by the friendliness as you won't be. But I will return again as it's some good quality home made pub grub.
