We went with friends to this pretty nursery outside of Richmond. Lovely flowers, plants, pots, gardeners' gadgets, etc. - all at incredibly high prices. Then we sat down on rickety old chairs at rickety old tables in a Miss Havisham's greenhouse-ish setting and proceeded to order our lunch. At any rate, the appetizers (starters), as well as the main courses... More

We have to this excellent restaurant a number of times over the last few years, and eaten from each of its chefs. The meal today was completely excellent, in fact as it always has been. The place is stunningly beautiful, as long as you 'get it' and are not predisposed to moan about the floor etc. We have eaten at... More

This was our second visit at the restaurant (not the teahouse) .... Food was very good, the service was lacking despite our attempts to highlight the poor service. No dedicated server for a party of eight, and more so the manager was completely oblivious after we politely told her about the wait and follow on service. Staff was friendly, but the... More

Met friends on an overcast morning at around 11am to sit and shiver in the nursery. (not my idea of fun). Friends all climbed into the cakes which looked ok if you like cake (I don't) and also I do not like getting my own water glasses and water and everything else. I like to be served when I go... More

Petersham Restaurant is in the Petersham Nursery and while essentially a women's luncheon spot, it is still worth a visit. Beautiful people, beautiful and delicious food, and beautiful flowers and trinkets. Take the family for a glorious experience (if the weather is good).

Having visited for the first time a year ago I have returned regularly to the Nurseries . Our last visit( predominantly to visit the shop) we had a wonderful lunch from the tea house- imaginative and freshly prepared- the setting is peaceful and staff do not hurry you along- Yes occasionally the dishes are a little pricey for a casual... The answer is yes! We had lunch in the Tea House - not the Cafe (that's for another time!). An extensive choice of salads, of the highest quality and very reasonably priced. We followed it up later with tea and cakes - again, excellent and very good value. OK, the tables and chairs are rather ropey, but with food of... More

A friend recommended here as an interesting place to visit but we were very disappointed. Pleasant enough walk through the Meadows and along the Thames to reach the Nurseries, but in my opinion they are totally overrated. We ate in the café and it was OK,no more than that, expensive for what it was. The most disappointing was the poor... More

We knew it was going to be expensive as we were a group and had a fixed lunch price of £55 per person. We had hoped the food would match the price! This was just so very disappointing! The food was not better than any local upmarket pub and on top paying more than the best restaurants in central London... More

We always enjoyed Petersham Nurseries for the style, selection of food and easy atmosphere. This however was spoiled by the 10 pence at the bottom of a half eaten bowl of soup and then the other items were either slightly burned or oddly, under cooked / cold when it should be warm. Shame, nice place, great idea but sadly needs... More
