Relaxed dining

Dropped in for dinner, first time. We had rib steaks, washed down a very reasonably priced bottle of wine. Nicely cooked and presented, an above average piece of beef. We sat in the courtyard, waited on but friendly, attentive staff. I left feeling better for the experience.

Delicious French food in Richmond, tucked in the Town Centre near the Parish Church. Small and intimate, white linen tablecloths, food nicely presented. Daily lunch menu we had was great value. Green salad, Ognet steak and french fries followed by Creme Brûlée or cheese.

If you love cheese (I really do), what is better than a delicious pot of melted cheese? The fondue at La Buvette was absolutely wonderful and served with salad, toasted sourdough bread chunks and the tastiest plate of charcuterie (you could tell it was freshly sliced and not just peeled out of a packet). The cost of £20 per head... More

After a long day at Kew Gardens en route to car park we found La Buvette open early on Sunday evening. It was nice to enjoy good French onglet steak and frites, with a warm welcome and lovely French decor. Shall definitely revisit when next at Twickenham and wish we lived nearer!

We visited La Buvette for pre-theatre dinning. Also, it was my partner's birthday, unfortunately someone who took a reservation oversighted (?) my message saying that candle on our dessert or 'happy bday' on the plate would be much appreciated.... We had drinks, two mains and a dessert. A lovely place, great location, but food had no flavour ... we had... More

Food is tasty and staff are friendly enough. The setting is very cute and does transport you to a French rustic cafe. A good find in Richmond.

I been there for a dinner and I really enjoy all the food. Really nice the staff, so kind and very professional. Some doubts about the management and the way to coordinate the staff. I saw many things I didn't like it. For example: - same costumer was waiting to long for clean the table and the manager or assistant... More

There are not too many non chain alternatives in Richmond for rating. La Buvette is tucked away by the church in the heart of the town. The prix fixe menu was interesting, high quality and the ambience great. Highly recommended.

Great little restaurant tucked away from hustle bustle. Food delicious particularly fish soup. But service needs drastically improving - actually found some staff rude which is unacceptable when paying these prices. I read some reviews which criticised how cramped it is - get over it as whole point of this place is it's a one-off gem! So a mixed review... More

Onglet, that's the way to go. Restaurant was quiet when we arrived - only one other table occupied (a very sunny late afternoon in April) - but service was unhurried. An enjoyable experience I'd like to repeat. Party of 4 - 3 onglet ordered :).
