I've been to the Marlborough many times over the last 10 years. Have popped in for a pint on Christmas Day, and have enjoyable eaten their many times. Today, however, was a real disappointment. Venue and atmosphere was as reliable as ever, but the service was mediocre, followed up by lousy food. My partner and I shared some mushroom and... More

Dreadful service, dreadful staff, and dirty garden. We were served RAW SAUSAGES with our meal that we seen the chef shrug off, and we were offered a round of "Fosters" for our experience. Avoid this pub, and head the The Roebuck - which is where we went after, much better service and atmosphere if your in this area.

I think everyone agrees that the location, the decor and the garden are excellent. But that's not the reason we're reviewing the pub. I've lived in the neighbourhood for 10 years on/off and the Malborough is my go-to local. However the risk attached in eating there is real hit and miss. 5 years ago, they were heading in the right... More

We had lunch on a warm Sunday afternoon in the garden and the experience has been really positive! We didn’t have a lot of expectations as most of the reviews say that the food is bad, however or chicken + fries was ok. Service needs big improvements, you guys could make much more money in terms of drinks, desserts &... More

The only thing going for this place is the location & lovely beer garden. The food was dire & the service was pretty slow. We waited 40 minutes for food to arrive at our table of 6. And it wasn't busy. Four of us had the roast pork. The meat was incredibly fatty and the helping was pretty small. The... More

Came for lunch with my brother in law who was due back home. our food came out at different times and was very stingy for the price. some of the food was inedible, chips cold...yuk. staff were nice but need to be a bit more on the ball...eg food came then long wait for cutlery, condiments...hence cold food. Poor!!

I should have read the previous reviews before visiting as hadn't been to this pub in quite a while. The decor. garden etc are pretty good but the food was very poor indeed. Also the tables needed a good wipe and chairs were dirty and marked Should have been a sign just to have a drink and leave!.. A glass of... More

Anyone that lives in the vicinity knows that The Marlborough has never been known for good food, very much the opposite, its always been disappointing food. Nevertheless, on the rare cherished summer's day there is nothing better than sitting out in their back garden enjoying a glass, the company of our friends and neighbours and the joy of our children...
