Met with friends in Richmond for a drink. We walked around for a short while until we stumbled across the White Swan which is at the side of the old Richmond Palace. It is a very small, cosy and idyllic pub with a lots of history. It has a small outside area at the front, but a larger beer garden... More

Lovely location, and nice relaxed weekday lunchtime atmosphere. As other reviewers have said, it's baby and dog friendly. Our issue was with our main courses - friend had rather dry risotto cakes, I had lamb. Not sure what cut, maybe rather fatty chump - lots of bits, one or two were edible but chewy, not tender. I left most of... More

I visited 'The White Swan' earlier this week with friends and lots of little babies and all the paraphernalia that they come with!! The staff were very accommodating and helpful, and made us feel welcome! There was a lovely open fire which was great, as it was a chilly day, plus friendly dogs milling around!! Just my kind of place!!... More

And then we came here after England had beaten Wales! I had two pints of very good Timothy Taylor Landlord, still one of my favourite beers. This will most likely be our first choice of pubs for future home games.

Went for a Sunday roast. Good tasting beef, but it arrived lukewarm at best. Waitress had a questionable knowledge of coffee types.

Love the White Swan on a Sunday - great roasts, good beer and friendly service - the garden is first come first served but worth waiting for. Got a very busy with the rugby but still lovely atmosphere

Used this pub regularly back in the 1960s so during a rare visit to Richmond I was really looking forward to going back there for a pint or two. It's still looking good, in a superb location just by the river. The staff were casual, unfriendly and inefficient - to the point of rudeness. Ordered a coffee for my wife... More

Though Richmond upon Thames is an absolutely beautiful area (I currently live there), I feel that it lacks a little in food quality compared to the rest of London. The White Swan is, however, one of the best restaurants I've been to in London. The restaurant has a menu that changes daily, but I've had sausages and mash, a duck... More

Had a great meal here. The food and menu was excellent and good value. The service was really good, everyone there is very friendly. Nice atmosphere and a great wine and drink selection. Looking forward to the next visit!

It was a cold and crispy evening, so walking to the place through the river was something to write home about; better still was to get there and sit next to the fire place; cannot beat that. We were welcomed very warmly by the waiting staff. They provided us with very attentive and professional service throughout the diner- well done... More
