Pubs by the river in Richmond are glorious, they are also uncomfortably crowded if it's a sunny summer evening. Not so, The White Swan. It is a 5 minute walk from Richmond bridge down the embankment past a few packed out pubs and a right turn on Old Palace Lane about 50 meters from the river. You can sit inside... More

Enjoyed the food here so much on a visit earlier in the year we came back for more with a bigger group of friends. Proper gastro pub type food, nothing too fancy but all really tasty and plenty of it. Highlight for me has to be the banoffee pie for pudding- it's lush!

We haven't yet eaten here - though we say we should each time we visit! This place is in a great location, with friendly staff and a great selection of drinks. There is a fantastic atmosphere and our small hound is made more than welcome each time we visit. A gem of a place.

There is no doubt the White Swan is a local's pub. It may be a little back from the river, but it has such a wonderful ambience. One of my favourite pubs, and I've been to a few! It hasn't been expanded like so many around, yet there is usually a spare table, the food is so well presented, the... More

My title says it all really. Great location along the river bank, great food choice & quality. Went with the family & they totally loved it & are planning to come back. Staff were attentive, friendly & helpful.

Popped in recently and ordered a drink for my partner.....young guy behind the bar hadn't a clue how to make the drink and instead of asking the manager who does know puts together something completely different....when pointed out what the drink consists of barman says he will have to charge again for his mistake....good customer service!!!

This was my local 30 years ago but I heard that it had been transformed. So on a birthday trip to Hampton Court and Richmond we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. Welcoming service, excellent food and wine, and a really warm atmosphere. It's a pub that focuses on food, rather than a gastropub, with staples... More

Terrific little gem of a spot for some pre match drinks before walk to Twickenham. Great beers. Great atmosphere.

Had seared pigeon breast to start, don't be put off, wonderfully tasty and tender. Sadly can't remember what I had for main but it was very good! (the menu online is different to the menu we were given) For dessert I had the warm chocolate cake with ice-cream which was good but would've liked to be a bit moister or... More

The White Swan is a lovely pub in a lovely location. We went for Sunday lunch yesterday which at £15 per roast, ought to deliver. Sadly it didn't. We both had lamb so I can't comment on the beef or the pork. The bulk of the plate is made up of veg - which were cooked well and tasted fresh... More
