A great option for relaxed eating

Tucked slightly away, a short stroll from the centre of town, this is a great option for relaxed eating in very popular Richmond. The pub is on a lovely secluded street right by the Old Deer Park, Twickenham Bridge and Richmond Lock and weir, all of which are well worth a look. Service was... read more

We found this pub by chance on our first visit to Richmond.it has a nice friendly feel to it and has a nice garden at the back although it was too cold for us to sit out that night.found the food well cooked and the fish and accompaniments were delicious. Service good too.

I visited this restaurant again after really enjoying my Meal last time. My husband and son both really liked their meals (steak and sausages ) but sadly my lamb was quite tough and. Chewy. My starter and pudding were really good but I was disappointed by the main course so am not sure I would go there again.

I'd drink here, but the food wasn't great. Very pretty pub and garden but I've had much better pub steak. Palid oven chips, stale bagged salad, decent cut of meat but we struggled without steak knives. Sticky toffee pudding would have been good with more sauce, the ice cream was rock hard as the whole dish had clearly just been... More

I live in France but visit Richmond on a regular basis. Lunch at the White Swan is a must on my to do list, a family run business with the service and quality of food struggled to be reached by some other fine dining establishments. Highly recommended.

Went in on a busy Sunday afternoon without booking. Was addressed politely and asked to wait for around half an hour at the bar - which we did. We were updated with how long it would take to be seated regularly and in a friendly manner by the staff. We sat down after 40 minutes or so and ordered. All... More

There are several riverside pubs in Richmond and on a sunny Sunday they're all heaving. Worth making a short detour therefore to the White Swan, a few yards down by the railway bridge and up Old Palace Lane. Good beer (selection includes Otter from S Devon), and better-than-average gastropub food (main course c £15). My sea bass was seriously tasty,... More

My wife and I met our son who lives in Greenwich for Sunday lunch, booked a table about a week in advance, glad we did it was very busy. As it was a beautiful day we asked if we could eat outside in the garden instead, no problem and the lady gave us one of the reserved tables in the... More

Great location just by the river and always busy which is a good sign. Met some friends for Sunday Lunch and it was very good. We all had the Sunday Roast and there were no complaints. Service was friendly and the kitchen copes well with all the people. As other reviewers mention it is best to book in advance.
