Paid £75 up front for Christmas dinner. Waited an hour for the starter, then an hour for our main. The waiting staff worked hard but don't know what happened in the kitchen! In the meantime, we spent money on drinks and were charged £4.50 for a bottle of water which I think is disgraceful. The food was ok but I... More

I love this pub for their friendly and very helpful service and very delicious sunday roast. Ever time we went there, food was really fresh and waitresses always attentive and accommodating. I love their decor and atmosphere, it is definitely a perfect place after a hike in Richmond park

A friend offered to buy supper to relieve my Christmas weary partner from any more cooking. We recommended the Lass as a pleasant place, comfortable with competent basic cooking if a tad over priced. Oh dear! Nice kids with no training tried hard with us and probably thought us crabby old b*****s. We asked for 2 venison steaks and a... More

We had been before & it had been Ok but we had limited ourselves to bangers & mash or fish & chips. This time we tried other dishes & whatever could go wrong, did. 3 of us ordered a main. 1 venison was nigh on raw, the other cremated, the burger tough, tasteless & with a very soggy inedible bun.... Brillant - we were going to another pub down the road but they were fully booked (and as it turned out, not really suitable for families with young kids) so they sent us here. The pub is beautiful inside with loads of space, at least three open fires, and many different areas to sit / eat / drink. It's a... More

My son and I went for an early evening bite to eat as we were staying in a hotel around the corner. The staff greeted us warmly and we sat near the open fire. Service was excellent, and the staff were particularly kind to my son. The food was also lovely though I thought the burger was expensive. The children's... More

We booked a table for xmas dinner and sent through our menu choices some weeks ago, as requested. We arrived before 1.30pm and our starter came at 2.30pm. The main finally arrived at around 3.30pm. By that time, after all the hanging about, I didn't want to eat anything. Still, I tried a slice of turkey (good) but was put... More

A good place for a wholesome, simple and well cooked meal with a good wine and beer offering. Not cheap by any stretch but I keep going back because it's mercifully free of people who shout!

We had our office Christmas meal hear every year for the past 5 years. In the past it has been great food and good service, although started to go downhill a bit last year. This year we had our office Christmas meal here again - it was truly disappointing. Food quality was really poor, portion sizes were tiny, and service... More
