PAUL is a "Maison de Qualite" that has perpetuated its values since 1889. It is also, and most importantly, a family concern that has been going for 120 years. PAUL offers breads and a wide range of viennoiseries, of patisseries and of seasonal sandiwichies, plus the " French-style" meals and snacks, with quiches and tarts, mixed salads, served in its tearooms.

A lovely location but there are a few issues

Firstly the location in the heart of Richmond makes Paul an ideal spot for a light meal or coffee. I have been here a few times and the service in not consistent as some staff members have poor spoken English and can come over as abrupt even if they do not intend to appear as such. The prices on... read more

Small shop cosy to say the least, we go here often, good coffee and cakes, pastries, takeaway salads, rolls and cakes as well. Tip: Load up from Paul Richmond and head to the riverside for a picnic.

We stumbled upon Paul while seeking out a place for a cup of tea and an afternoon snack. It was the perfect choice for food and warm beverages, with surprisingly good pastries reminiscent of a recent trip to Paris. The café in Richmond had the feel of a one-of-a-kind establishment, so we were surprised to discover that Paul is a... More

It makes the impression of an old style french café, but is operated by a chain. Which is nothing negative in this particular case. We loved it and had a wonderful tea-break with good hot drinks and tasty, fine cakes/pastries. We can clearly recommend it. Our visit was in October 2013... not 2014.

The pave poulet baguette is a favourite of mine - great bread with poppy seeds, lots of chicken and tomato and tasty mustard mayo. Staff are friendly but decor is getting a bit dark and dingy.

my office is right across the road from cafe Paul and it's definitely an all-time fave amongst myself and my colleagues. The owner remembers our faces AND names, and he is so wonderful to chat to and interacts with his customers. it makes us always want to go back there. As for the cakes, coffees and pastries - they are... More

This was originally a French family business There are many branches around London. There are many period pictures which contribute to a "continental atmosphere".They sell bread as well as a good selection of cakes Most branches are open about 12 hours a day which is handy after a day in London. The cakes are very good & the prices are reasonable.

We came here today for coffee, pastries and baguettes and this place did not disappoint. The raisin escargot were excellent as were the baguettes - fresh and with lots of filling. The coffee was ok rather than great and the girls were very friendly. The decor could do with an update. Prices about what you would expect for the quality.

Decor could be better and it's all a bit pricey, however the quality of cakes and pastries is brilliant. Good place to order cakes for big occasions. Coffee is generally OK.
