A very pleasant surprise!

I visited midweek lunchtime. The front area is a normal traditional pub. At the rear however is a dining room with table service. There is a full menu though we chose from a small two courses for £7. Starter and main. I had.a small individual lasagna with salad for start followed by Turkey pie with... read more

I have recommended this place so many times to family and friends from Birmingham but my recent visit was so poor and alarmingly disappointing . The prices are no longer family friendly. My wife bought a coffee £ 1.80 and a ice cream @ £ 1.80 my daughter bought a small cake in packet @ £ 1.70. My son asked... More

We visited as a family of 4 and were very impressed. Food was great, lots of potatoes and vegetables and the service was superb. Great views from the dining area out across the sea. We will be back.

Booked a table for 7:45 for four of us, they seemed in total chaos , we eventually managed to get a round of drinks then another round, 2 hours later still no food complained again and was told they were busy um but they are a restaurant ! so we had to walk out.. Ruined what was supposed to be... More

We stumbled across The Captains Cabin by accident and decided to try it out. It is a short way out of Weston so wasnt as busy as the town centre pubs. The beer (Cornish Pale Ale) was superb, the best I had tasted for many a year. We weren't that hungry but wanted to try what was on offer. We... More

We went here to celebrate my Dad's birthday and it was as wonderful as the food we used to have at The Flute (owners previous restaurant) It is the sauces that make great food superb, and fantastic vegetables individually served. I was so happy to think we can still go out and celebrate with great food, great wine and lovely... More

Called in for lunch, it was reasonably busy and the young waiting staff were friendly and helpful. My belly pork was pretty good, though not very crispy. My companion did not enjoy her lamb very much, it being rather tough. The accompanying veg was just ok. It is a bit of an enigma this place, a great location and we... More

Even a day later still flabbergasted ! One of the most awful meals I have ever experienced! How any chef ( or owner ) could allow this to leave the kitchen, beggars belief! Served alleged fillet steak, it came swimming like a watery stew, in what porported to be peppercorn sauce, with skin film, appeared to have been microwaved! Then... More

Had a lovely, tasty meal with the family, celebrating 2 birthdays. Food and service was excellent and a lovely, roaring fire was in the hearth to greet us on what turned out to be a an unexpected cold evening. Would go there again.
