We ate at the Captains Cabin with 2 friends on Saturday August 16 th. We all had 3 courses with wine and coffee and every aspect was excellent. the side dishes were delicious and although we all had different main courses all agreed everything was very good. The owners and staff were extremely obliging and we shall undoubtedly return. Many... More

First time visit after Flute De Paris, wife, daughter and myself, all thought the food was excellent both in quality and quantity. Two bottles of wine plus starter and main less than £100, no complaints here re value The menu was good with plenty of choice available, the wine list also good and varied The girls had fish and pork... We visited the Captains Cabin last night on the recommendation of friends. The food wasn't cheap and I would have expected better quality for the price. I think the fish swam past my fish chowder starter as there wasn't even one piece of fish in the bowl and my ribeye steak was bland as were the vegetables. Everything was dusted... More

My partner and I have called in for a drink several times recently and like sitting outside in the sun looking out over the bay. Although the old building is a bit tired the new owners have freshened the place up. We also recently booked an evening meal here with friends and had a table by the window. We had... More

We went to the Captains Cabin on a Sunday night for food, but unfortunately they had stopped serving food, so we stayed for drinks. The pub is fantastic with a warm friendly atmostphere, the staff could not have been more welcoming or friendly. It is also dog friendly, which was great, again the staff couldn't do enough for the dog,... More

Went to eat here for my birthday. The staff were all very friendly there was a lovely atmosphere and we had a table right by the window. The menu offered alot of choice. When the food arrived it was very well presented and it tasted fantastic. Would definitely recommend eating here and I am looking forward to the next visit.

Had to visit there to book as unable to find telephone number! Very welcoming. A bread basket, selection of butters and a jug of iced/lemoned water on table, as standard - nice touch. Main courses best value for money. Puddings not , but having said that, they looked attractive and tasted yummy!! Wine from about £13.50 a bottle, would have... More

My friend and I ate here on Wednesday. If you want to eat outside it is a trip down a flight of steep steps. I ordered a home made steak pie which was burned black around the outside edge and hard and over baked all over. It sat on a plate of peas, chilli pieces and onion???? The accompanying vegetables...
