Visited here yesterday after not being able to get a lunchtime reservation with another local restaurant. A long windy drive but wow! We arrived to a pub situated near a grave yard...the decor looked like it had not been done since the 60s but lots of quirky funny little signs ("I listen to what the voices in my wife's head... The Kirkstyle Inn is a great halfway meeting place when we are meeting up with my daughter and her family. A few weeks ago we met here for Sunday Lunch and were delighted with our meal. The roast beef was melt on your mouth and the vegetables were perfectly cooked. The meal was presented beautifully and the whole family enjoyed... More

We visited with a party of 18 walkers, without exception they were impressed with the standard and value of the lunch. Even with 18 we were served very quickly.

We have just returned from spending a week in this beautiful area of Northumberland. We called into the Kirkstyle Inn on a few occasions. The food and hospitality were excellent, as were the locals whom very friendly. The meals we had were tasty, well presented, reasonably priced and were very generous portions. Another positive is that it is dog friendly... More

We visited the kirkstyle inn whilst staying in the area on our honeymoon, we had got the train from alston to Lintley and walked the distance to the pub. Well worth the walk, beautiful surrounding area, friendly locals and lovely meal in the sunshine. We both had steak and have to say was excellent! Reasonably priced and cooked to perfection!... More

My first visit to the area (stunning!) and therefore my first visit to the Kirkstyle Inn. Oh dear! The cleanliness of the restaurant is awful. Apart from the mould spores all over the ceiling and walls, the dust and grime on the carpets and window ledges is unforgivable. We had booked for a large party as part of a family... More

Having dined well here 18 months ago on our last visit to this area, we were anxious to return. We were just as pleased again and had two excellent meals there this time around. Service was friendly and informal. The chef and barkeep are the owners. We even ran into people that we had met elsewhere earlier that day. Reservations... More

Although it looks like a down at heel pub and is clearly a local hostelry the food is excellent. They specialise in local produce, particularly sausages and mustard and this makes it stand out from other places. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

We had a large family meal here a few nights ago. The staff were great and the food was lovely. All home cooked and lots of choice even for vegetarians and all portions a very good size. Even though there were so many of us the meals arrived in good time and we had a great evening. Thanks
