Ideal Setting.

A very welcome feel to this Pub /restaurant situated in beautiful scenery. This is a Ramblers paradise although I am not one of them. Busy at weekends which you would expect. Food comes in generous portions and with a good variety. Well worth a visit.

One can build up a good appetite waking the nearby hills. What better way then eating a hearty meal after this toil? Being the only eatery this pub could serve standard warmed up meals but instead it delivers very good and interesting food. Go walk and go eat. You won't be disappointed.

Visited after walk round forest and reservoirs. Lovely atmosphere, great 'sunny' service, good home cooked food, excellent choice of menu to suit all. Shame no rooms or would have been perfect for overnight stay.

We stopped here for lunch mod way in a walk round Macc Forest. We sat at a table outside and the service and food were excellent. The food took a bit of time to arrive but that's because it was being freshly prepared and was well worth the wait.

On first impressions this restaurant/pub could not be in a better setting, Over looking the reservoir and Macc Forrest. The layout inside is typically iggledy piggledy as you come to expect from country pubs which adds to their charm. The menu especially on the board was very good. I had the Wild Boar Wellington which was very nice although slightly... More

The location is amazing, a nice place to go for a pub lunch then go for a walk around Macclesfield forest. I ordered the sea bass which was the special and it had so many bones inside, it really wasn't enjoyable to eat.

Had not visited the pub for many years because I have moved away from Cheshire. It was an absolutely great idea to go for lunch on Friday 5th June 2015. The service was first class; lots of different dishes to choose from and the service was very good. The location, on the edge of the Macclesfield Forest, is very attractive... More

A lunch booking was arranged for our party of 13 It was an excellent choice. We were shown immediately to our tables, the bar staff were most accommodating in taking photos for us , the first opportunity of a reunion weekend for all of us to be "in the pic" We were served drinks and lunch selections were taken with...
