Two visits - One fantastic and one very poor

My friends invited me for lunch on a Thursday afternoon in March as it was our birthday week. We have fantastic service and the food was lovey. I had one of the specials that day and I am really glad not only was it the healthy option but it was so tasty. The lady surprised us with a large... read more

My elderly sister and I enjoyed a pleasant lunch here. Because she only eats small meals,we shared a chicken baguette and a portion of chunky chips. The waitress even brought two plates for us so we could divide the meal. Wonderful chips....best I've ever had! Excellent coffee and tea. Service was quick. (Just a point...if the owners read the reviews...they... More

Went on Sat morning with friends. Had lovely coffee and fab cakes, lemon cake, coffee and walnut cake and rocky road, all lovely. We were served quickly and left in peace to chat. Nice atmosphere. Will go again as not too expensive. Very enjoyable treat!

I use to go to amuse all the time and me and my family loved it but the last few times we have been it has been terrible, however we thought we would give it the benefit of the doubt and give it one last try. We weren't greated on arrival and seated ourselves downstairs because last time we Sat... More

This is my go-to coffee shop when near Macclesfield. Its right on Chestergate, so easy to get to, always friendly and has a nice atmosphere. I've usually just bought a coffee and cake, but I've had a lunch there once and that was good too. They also do evening meals. But its the cakes I wanted to talk about... they... More

Went around 10am on a Tuesday. Service was fine, had a bacon and egg barm snotty egg but otherwise ok and coffee was lukewarm. Had to go upstairs to go to loo not easy with a cast and walking stick. The stairs to the toilets needed a good hovering and the toilets were grubby with a poor dryer a dodgy... More

This worked really well for us. It was quiet and service was friendly, genuine and attentive. Kids had jacket potato with really good chilli and home made chicken goujons and we shared a good fish finger sandwich to ensure we had room for cakes! Coffee was good too, whilst not cheap it was very reasonable for the clean plates that... More

Visited with friends and not impressed by the service at all. We waited approx 40 mins for food, wrong order served, no apologies/nor explanation for the waiting time & waitress was very curt throughout the visit. My food was nice but friends' food nothing special & far too expensive for simple dishes. (2 other people left without eating as they... More

Food is average. Service is poor. Overall is expensive for what it is . Only thing to commend it is that it is open on Sundays
