Pies a plenty !

Lovely friendly bar, great selection of ales and beers and tantalising but simple menu! We were spoilt for choice, pies of every kind all too tempting! We opted for Steak and stout with minty peas and mashed potatoes, comfort food heaven! Staff great, cosy setting, we'll be back!

This is a small 'new generation pub'. It's kept much of the coziness of a traditional pub but feels newer and fresher. Focus is on artisan/craft beers. I had a Chorlton Sour - just that, never had a sour beer before!

Thanks very much for leaving us a review. Your description of the bar is interesting - we converted a closed down shop so it is nice that we have managed to create something of the feeling of a traditional pub. You're right about the beers - some of them are pretty unusual! We like to give you a different experience.... More

Dropped in for a couple of beers with friends. My first choice of beer was good but my second pint was quite unpleasant and this view was shared by my colleague who had chosen the same and another customer stood at the bar. However the bar staff weren't interested so we ditched that beer and moved on to another. Will... More

Thank you for taking the time to review us. I'm interested to know what the beer was, so we can look into this. We are always happy to provide a taster of our beers, some of them are quite unusual and not to everyone's taste, so please feel free to ask. We want you to enjoy every pint! Please do... More

Had meant to write a review last visit but we returned again this Sunday after a walk around the excellent Treacle market. A good selection of real ale and continental lager to chose from, we also ate I chose the chicken pie with mash and peas while the wife chose the meat platter both excellent. A very relaxed feel about... More

We visited this bar while on holiday after researching to find restaurants which offered vegan/vegetarian choices. Our Son chose from a vegan sandwich with two sides including crisps, while we had cheese and onion pie with mash and peas. The service was very friendly, the food was really good and we will definitely go back if we are in the... More

Thanks so much, it's great to hear we are one of your favourite places! You're right, we are pretty small, but that can have its advantages - we're glad you enjoy the cosy atmosphere. See you again soon! More

Popped in with a few mates on our way to the local Gurkha restaurant. Most tables were occupied but not overly crowded, and a nice little buzz about the place. The 2 staff behind the bar were really friendly and happy to give a sample. 2 of us went for the Wingman ale and the other 2 the Orange tip.... More

The beer in here is very good, but it's very small and gets very busy! Often end up walking past instead of going in!

Ah, a victim of our own success, it seems! There are plenty of occasions when we have tables available- daytimes are usually quieter than evenings. We hope you manage to find another chance to come in and sample some of our great beers and food, and then hopefully you might review us again, and award us more than three stars! More
