Excellent food and drink

I visited on Friday with my Dad with no expectations. Selection of cask ales was good, I saw at least four. We went for the Bosley Cloud and doombar, both were excellent and one of the best pints I've had for a long time. soup of the day was an unusual fennel and orange which was delicious... read more

Monday lunchtime, my first visit and at the recommendation of the friend I was with who has been several times. My request to have an adjustment made to a dish was agreed to (a good sign of freshly-prepared food), first course fine, chips excellent, puddings delicious. However, when we commented to staff that one cup of cappuccino was nearly full... More

Thanks for the review. I can only apologise if the manner in which I came across was rude, it was certainly not intentional. As you can see from the recent reviews we are extremely focused on customer service and satisfaction. I hope this does not deter you from visiting us again in the future. More

Brilliant value for money. We had a carvery. Choice of three meats and just fill your plate up with potatoes and vegetables. We go at least one a month.

Easy to find, good car parking Eaten twice here, both times on business during busy lunch times. Good food, reasonably priced with great service. Highly recommended.

Booked a table for 15 on mothers day and specifically requested that we all be on one table which the manager confirmed. On the day put on 2 tables next to each other & told they were too busy when we complained. The pub can easily seat 15 but the table plan was mis managed & are complaints were ignored.... More

I'm sorry that we did meet your requirements for that day, however, you called three days before Mother's Day and we managed to get you two tables next to each other on the busiest day of the year. Your party was continually rude to my staff, and, regarding the table plan, we have to take into account the other guests... More

We have had lunch here five times and each time enjoyed lovely hot meal from their interesting menu. We even held my 60th birthday here and took a dozen critical diners with us but amazingly not one had any complaint. Well done. It is even dog friendly :-)

We called in for a late lunch and were met by very friendly staff. I had the slow braised beef brisket pie. It was crammed full of meat and was really tender. My wife had the ploughman's lunch. We both enjoyed the food and will certainly return in the future.
