We went to The Windmill on Saturday 15th March for a meal with some friends and we had a great evening. We hadn't been to this pub for a meal in a long time, but we've exhausted all the bars, restaurants in Bramhall and Poynton so we thought it was time for a change! The food was excellent, delicious and... More

Nice walk from Bollington, always welcoming. Food can be good but does vary and can be expensive for what you get, best to choose wisely. Visit fairly regularly but bad experience on a Bank Holiday weekend they could not cope and food was poorly presented and greasy. Otherwise normally satisfied good beers

From first view on line, the menu appeared to be rather Coeliac-unfriendly, but a relative, who dines there regularly, assured us that the chef would modify items on the menu to suit a gluten free diet. This was confirmed in the reply to an email my wife had sent to the establishment asking the question. We arranged to meet our... More

We came upon this pub by accident, while looking for somewhere for a snack lunch, before booking in to a nearby hotel for the weekend. The welcome was as warm, as the log fire, and the staff very friendly. We enjoyed our lunch so much that we booked the same table for the following night. The atmosphere, quality of food, and... Good beers and modestly priced wines are available to drink witha wide variety of food. Over time we have had dinners such as vegetables in tempura batter and venison steak to chip butties. The restaurant with a roaring fire in winter or eat lunch in the garden it's just as good.

We had a great night out and a lovely welcome, the food was excellent and a thoroughly personal night, loved it. It's our summer pub but we don't often go in winter but we've booked again in two weeks for Valentines. The staff were really welcoming, and menu great, even if Peter misses words out :-) it's now a new... More

New Year's Day saw a drive out to the Windmill for a spot of lunch with my wife & 16 month old daughter. It was our first visit to the pub in nearly a year but it was just as good as we remembered. I opted for the fish finger sandwich and my wife the pork pulled sandwich. A side... More

We visited in a large group on new years eve. Great atmosphere and a good amount of busy - crowded but still room to dance. Food was lovely, especially the main courses, the beef striploin was huge and cooked medium rare with yummy sauce, the lamb Henry was also massive and delicious. I have been in the past for sandwiches... More

This was our second christmas lunch here, and was a substantial improvement over last year. Pete and his team offered a relaxed, festive and welcoming environment in which they served the most fantastic food. Our starters were immaginative and tasty. Maincourse of Turkey and trimmings was cooked beautifully and was plentiful. The Venison was succulent and served with a delightful... More
