Best ale & pub food

If you get to Bollington you should not miss the Bollington Brewery. And what better place to get it than at The Vale Inn? Best beers & ales, great food, spacey pub and lively atmosphere. This is not your local village pub, but caters to a more sophisticated - yet not too posh - crowd.

Excellent pub for drinking in, locally made beer. Bar snacks are good, the food less so (3 stars) but all in all an enjoyable place to go

Great range of beers which have travelled well from the brewery across the road. Tried a couple, one a dark and choclately 'Dinnervale' the other a light IPA 'Long Hop' loved them both. Looking forward to trying the others on the next visit. They also serve quality pub grub, Over £10 for pie, chips and mushy peas is a lot... More

Got to the pub 15 mins before they opened , was invited in to wait. Super selection of real beers and knowledgable staff on beers. Had the special which was really good, home made warm scotch egg. Shame we found this one late in our visit to the area .

Thanks for the review and I'm sorry you didn't get the meal you ordered. This is clearly not our intention but I would rather you had pointed it out at the time and given us a chance to correct it. Our staff all work really hard and so to be criticised publicly without giving us the courtesy of trying to... More

Hidden away down a side street, you need to be directed to this place to find it. But when you do, you will keep returning! The tables book up very quickly on fridays and saturdays, largely because the food is great. There is a good selection of wine, and the beers are to die for. Great for couples or for... More

I came to the Vale inn on a warm summer afternoon. I'm regular here and the restaurant was mildly busy with seven waiting to be served at the bar. When it came to my turn the proprietor decided not to serve me in favour of someone who just walked in. The restaurant is smart but basic with a traditional pub... More

Thanks for the review and I'm really sorry you had this experience. This is obviously not the level of service we aim to provide and I'm very disappointed that this happened. Occasionally when it's busy we can lose track of which customer is next or think you are being served by someone else. I'm not sure when you were in... More

The best pint in Bollington but wouldn't bother with the food. A pity, as it seems to have been got up as a restaurant with many tables reserved. Also very noisy owing to lack of soundproofing (i.e. no carpet)

Thank you for the review and the compliment on the beer. You didn't say whether you tried the food but we are certainly not trying to be a restaurant, our aim is to be a brewery tap for our beer with complimentary food. We run a menu which covers a good range of items and is within the capability of... More

My boyfriend goes here a couple of times a month with his friend as they both love craft beers and the beers that the Bollington brewery make. I went there for the 1st time last month after an event I had ran in the village. It has a nice atmosphere and the bar staff were lovely. They have great range... More

Went here for the first time on sat evening and loved it, great little opened planned pub with stoned walls and floor, great choice of real ales and cider at the bar. It is also the brew tap for bollington brewery, food was good too so had a chicken and bacon baguette and a pint of real ale outside watching... More
