Cracking pub, of that there is no doubt. They brew their own beer here and the range is excellent, the pub is welcoming, there's a fire, shelves of books and friendly staff.....all this makes the grub I got there the more disappointing.....My first choice wasn't available which is always a little disappointing (especially when you're not told til you try... Better than your average pub food - and they make their own beer too! The decor is lovely - the staff are friendly and the food is great! My hubby is the beer drinker and he LOVES the beer brewed by the owners. I'm perfectly happy with the great coffee they serve.

I like this pub because it's at the heart of the community. There's always local events promoted and community meetings going on here. The food is standard pub fayre and the staff are friendly and helpful. A good choice of local beers and a log fire make for a convivial atmosphere.

We had a lovely meal at The Vale Inn after a day out in the area. I had the Half a Chicken dish, which was perfectly cooked, and came with great accompaniments of sides. We managed to get the table next to the open log fire, which made the whole meal very romantic and a great experience. Not only is... More

As we were staying local having travelled from Stourbridge I did some research on the small town of Bollington. As my husband and friends are fans of real ales, I suggested we visit this pub as it was one of the local breweries and no one was disapointed. Each of then chose a different ale and sampled each others and... More

Unfortunately when running low on ingredients they comprise and misses the mark Had a chicken salad and was served in Starter bowl with limp iceberg lettice and one piece of chicken The owner agreed not acceptable and sincerely apologised but came out similar in a larger bowl but the same content!!

I dined here recently and have to say that this is a lovely hidden gem of Bollington and lives up to it's reputation! Brought my family here and had an absolutely perfect evening. Lovely staff, great ales and the food was perrrrrfect! It's so obvious when the food is cooked fresh and with love! This is my go to place... More

Table for 3 booked early doors. Wasn't expecting greatness - shows how wrong you can be. My husband is a hard act to please but The food was great, service excellent (meals arrived while hubby was at bar - waiter went to find him, asked him to sit down and eat and he would bring drinks over - all unprompted).... I have had a pint in this pub before but never eaten here before. All three of us were agreed that the starters were delicious but we were delighted to find that the mains were as well. Whereas the starters were fairly complex combinations of ingredients the mains were simple pub classics; this contrast worked well because every plate was... More
