The Ava Grill & Tapas serves top quality food in a modern and relaxed setting in the heart of Bangor. It’s open seven days a week for both breakfast, lunch, early birds and dinner. Itoffers a diverse range of menus including blackboard specials and a la carte - perfect for families and couples. The food is freshly cooked with an emphasis on seafood, steaks and salads complete with a tempting wine selection.

Lovely food and great staff

My wife and I would go here for the great value lunches perhaps once a fortnight. The staff are always smiling and the food very tasty and good value. This Thursday was no different.. food served piping hot and with lots of smiles from the very friendly staff. I don't agree with some of these... read more

The Ava used to be a firm family favourite and regular stop off but our last visit left us underwhelmed. We called in for quick bite to eat midweek and when we got there the restaurant had only about 3 or 4 tables. We still had to wait to be seated - while the staff were sat at the back... More

I called in to the Ava with my family purely on spec. Not having booked we were happy to get a table and delighted to find we had arrived in time for the early bird menu. The food was excellent, and the staff were so delightful that my 13 year old son commented "wow, they really know how to make... More

I went to the Ava yesterday on Monday the 23rd of March. Myself and my friend travel down from Belfast to go to the Ava either for a quiet drink and catch up or a bite to eat. However yesterday it was a different experience, when we went in for just a glass of wine we were approached by an... More

Thank you so kindly for your review, I have reviewed our cctv footage of your visit with us, all of which happened within 15 seconds. You and your friend came into the cafe grill, diners were still finishing off their lunch and beverages from lunch time service and the older waitress was cleaning down a table and resetting it, you... Lovely atmospheric setting for a very nice meal at a reasonable price. Service of staff was very helpful and pleasant. Will certainly use this venue again myself and also take the opportunity to buy gift vouchers for some friends.

What a diffence a few steps can make. I was below ground in the cellar bar, where it was rough and ready, noisy and basic, whereas in the cafe, on the ground floor, it's a totally different world. Had I known of the divide, I would not have gone in. Having said that, they were a decent bunch, who seemed... More

Looking for an early meal we called into The Ava Grill. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table. The service was excellent and the "Early Bird" good value. Yes if you are in the area call in you won't be disappointed.

Have eaten in the Ava before for an evening meal but had lunch this time and once again the food was delicious. Had the 2 course lunch menu and it had a good choice. The service was efficient and the meal was presented with a smile! Would certainly come again to this most welcoming restaurant.
