We have visited the Boathouse a few times and each time it seems to get better. The food is very different and the staff very attentive. The greatest care and attention is given to everyone and usually at the end of the evening the chef comes down to talk to the diners. As someone else has already mentioned the food... More

Many thanks to everyone at The Boathouse for a perfect evening to celebrate our daughter's birthday . The food was art on the plate.

Great location, friendly staff, food top notch. I thought the selection of gins was unique! Not cheap, but good value as an experience.

Part of a large party so may differ from individual diners. The menu is definitely fine dining and the food and presentation were first class. I think because we were a large (20) party having ordered we had to wait an inordinate time to be served. To make up for this we were not rushed and left quite late. Food... More

Living in Belfast, we decided to make a rare visit to Bangor for Sunday lunch, having seen a Sunday Life review of the Boathouse's 5 course taster menu. We loved the building, a cute and modern interior- a lovely space to spend a few hours. The restaurant was very quiet when we arrived and we were pleased to be offered... More

Ate here on Friday night with my wife and another couple. Menu good choice of starter mains and deserts. Food very good as was service wine prices reasonable, the home made sweets service with the coffee fab. £30 for 3 courses fair enough price for the quality of food etc. Since it opened we have visited about 6 times and... I ate here on Sunday March 9th and again thoroughly enjoyed my evening. Excellent value at £30 for three courses, which rivals Corin (the restaurant with the extremely rude owner). Ambiance, food, presentation and service was all 100%. The wine list is fantastic and I'm yet to have a bad experience here. By far it's my favourite restaurant in Bangor.

I took a friend here for Valentines Day and was blown away by the professional level of courtesy and friendliness we were given that evening. The setting is perfect for romance, small, intimate, each table has a private feel to it, even though it was fully booked. Unfortunately the chef/owner wasn't there that night, but his staff did him proud.... More
