Went for lunch with wife and son. The service was quick and efficient even though it was busy good selection on menu opted for the highlander burger with peppercorn sauce and scampi no complaints all freshly cooked and tasty will be going back.

We visited this restaurant for my dad birthday. The restaurant was really busy and the waitress once we had asked for menus since nobody had given us any told us they were understaffed which was desirable. The food was quick but some of the meals weren't spectacular. I had the pate which was excellent though the pate to oatcake ratio... More

We stayed at the New Inn Ellon and made our way to it's very attractive restaurant. Although very busy - a great sign - we were quickly given a table and enjoyed great food and service. I had Surf and Turf Burger and my husband had fish and chips - both freshly made, piping hot and extremely tasty. We shared... More

My husband and I have dined here quite a few times over the last 4 years or so and have always enjoyed our meals. On arrival this particular time round we weren't met with an overly warm greeting, and was just pointed to our table rather than taken to our table. We were not overly bothered by this, I think... While staying at the New Inn we dined twice at the Cornkist. Both meals were excellent, service top notch and friendly.

We are the worlds worst foodies !! I can't do Gluten, wheat or bread products and my wife is dairy free and lactose Int't. I see waitresses/chefs/owners glower and sigh as we walk through the door of their establishments. But when they get is right (see this restaurant as a prime example) boy do we praise it and visit it... More

Great atmosphere albeit noisy even on a weekday night. Food could be done with something more healthy on the menu for our party. We were a party of 3 and we all had difficulty finding something healthy for a during the week dinner. Our potatoes for all 3 meals were cold and even after asking for replacements they were still... I've been eating in the Cornkist several times and I simply can't fault it! The portions are big, beautifully presented and the good tastes great - nothing bland about it! The Cullen Skink is out of this world and they have a "haddock and prawn melt" to die for. The only thing is that if you want to go there... More
