Having spent a few days away from this area, it was wonderful to return and to be able to book a table at cafe 19. As always, the food was excellent, the service was excellent, and to be able to sit outside, on Connaught Avenue, and to take in the evening air, was the best homecoming for which one could... More

Had breakfast here last Tuesday. I must say it's the best Eggs Benedict I have ever eaten. The cafe is very intimate which may not suit everyone but sitting with the folding doors open onto the avenue it makes it feel very continental. We all trundled off very happy with the food, service and price. I have no doubt we... More

We stopped during the afternoon just for a cup of tea. No problem. Took the time to read their menu for the day (a Sunday) and decided to return to eat dinner. We were delighted. Imaginative food, well presented in a friendly manner at a very reasonable price. The sort of place that makes you think you've made a discovery... More

This is a splendid place for coffee and tea as well as for meals. The ingredients here are good , the food well presented and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The proprietor and his wife are often on site and always welcome people. The meal I had most recently was good old-fashioned cod and chips with peas and the... More

Love this place, meet my friend every month here, have a bite to eat and coffee, can't complain. The food is wonderful. You have the choice to sit inside or out. 👍👍

On our recent trip to Frinton from Australia we discovered Cafe 19 . Tried breakfast one morning and then most days afterwards as the food was so good and such delightful staff. We also had lunch a few times and took along my elderly parents and the staff are phenomenal . Lunch special around 10 pounds but good hearty food... More

The sign says wait to be seated, but a friendly call from behind the counter invited us to sit where we wanted to. With the whole front wall of the cafe being opened to the pavement we had seats inside or out to choose from. Being a hot sunny day we chose to sit inside to stay out of the... More

I live locally and have eaten there a few times, but recently we dropped in for morning coffee and were charged nearly £10.00 for two cups of coffee and two slices of cake, I won't be going there again.

Midweek lunch for 4 people, very friendly welcome, various light lunch baguettes and fish cakes were tasty and filling, although perhaps just slightly pricey. If we hadn't been eating out in the evening we'd have had the main courses which all looked excellent and very good value.

Looking for somewhere to eat in Frinton on a Sunday lunchtime but only wanting a sandwich we expected to be turned away from this busy café, but no, we were made welcome. We were found a table with the proviso that it was needed at a a certain time. The waitresses were busy but seemed unflurried and were always smiling.... More
