As we live in Pickering we may be a bit biased but honestly I haven't tasted better wherever I've been. Whether you eat in or take them home you be hard pressed to find better tasting or fresher fish and chips. Oh and the portions are big so beware, don't think about the calories, just think about the value for... More

Ate here last week after a lovely day out on the steam railway. We were hungry so we chose the medium sized portions of haddock and scampi. Both were delicious, the batter being light but not greasy and excellent value. The restaurant was clean with a downstairs toilet and the staff very friendly and efficient even though it was towards... More

Best fish and chips, fish was in a lovely batter which was so light but very tasty. Portions are good and the price is very reasonable.

We were in Pickering again as have a caravan there. Went on the Wednesday and I had the small size fish and chips (just right for me) and my husband the steak and ale pie. We both had tea to drink (3 cups each). The food was hot tasty and very nice no room for a sweet bill £12.00 what... More

We used the take out service for fish and chips and the quality of the food was very good and the price reasonable. We were able to order ahead and the order was ready for us almost as soon as we arrived to pick up our food. As mentioned in another review, there did seem to be quite a number... More

We visited this restaurant for a meal & we wasn't dissapointed, it was Yorkshire fish & chips at it's best & very good value too. the disabled toilet was excellent, if a small fish & chip shop can get it right, why can't other restaurants & hotels in the area do the same thing!? As a disabled visitor I found... More

As owners of a local B&B with two young children we visit Capplemans regularly and recommend it to our guests. The fish and chips are every bit as good as those at 'the seaside' (which we often try too). As a family we can get four small fish and chips including, tea, bread and butter with mushy peas for just... More

we visited this restaurant on two occasions and the food was really good. I was not impressed however with the number of flies inside. When I asked if something could be done about the flies I was told they were not allowed to put fly papers or fly traps up, this seems strange to me as it must be better... More
