Mulberries became part of the NYMR in August 2014, and has quickly establised itself as a firm favourite in Pickering. Serving a wide range of light bites from soup and sandwiches to a bowl of wedges, as well as breakfast, home made cakes and scones and meals which can include lasagne, pie and mash and many other favourites. The menu changes daily, so make sure you ask to see the specials board. In the summer take advantage of the outdoor seating, where you can sit and watch the engines as they run round in the station. We are also licensed, so you can enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple.

It's great sitting in the rear yard where you watch the steam train pulling into the station and then change lines to pull the carriages in the opposite direction. I ordered a tuna melt sandwich which came with salad coleslaw and salad. They had put grated cheese on top of the sandwich and attempted to melt the cheese. They hadn't... More

We called here one morning with a steam train enthusiast on a trip out to Pickering. Ideally situated for the station the outside seating area actually runs alongside the rail track. A warm welcome awaited and the service provided was extremely friendly and professional. We decided to have tea, cappuccino, coffee, hot chocolate, cheese scones, toasted teacake and toast -... We dropped in for an afternoon coffee and cake. Attentive and quick service, nice suntrap of a terrace, excellent baking, and a perfect view of the locomotives at the adjacent station. What's not to like?

This cosy little tearoom is a delight to visit. The food is excellent and the staff very friendly. There is a lovely sit outside area for nice fine days, from which you can watch the trains coming and going. It is open all year round and is an asset to the town

Lovely food and location, but on a glorious summers day it was rather quiet (me and my dad being the only people in the cafe), the one problem we faced was how loud the staff were! They were all teens shouting across the cafe and disrupting the lovely atmosphere! Other than that, lovely little cafe!
