Excellent food!

We stopped in here at an odd time of day to get something small to eat and some drinks. So much for something small to eat! We had the Belhaven Ale Sticky Sausages and after reading the Tripadvisor reviews, decided we had to try the Home made Steak and Ale Pie. I would HIGHLY recommend both dishes... read more

After having a great meal a few months ago we returned with family for a lunch. There is now a different menu so not sure if it has changed hands or chef but there will be no return for a third visit. After sitting down the first thing we noticed was the chef outside smoking. We very nearly walked away... More

Well when you want to just pop in somewhere for s quick bite, do your damnedest to avoid this place! Fish and chips was bland, soggy and a bit of a mushy mess. Another chain restaurant at its best! Let's get back to supporting privately owned pubs that don't take the piss with terrible food and unsatisfactory service

Popped in for lunch. Had burgers (one chicken with cheese & barbecue sauce, one with black pudding and haggis). Food was okay, not great. Chips where's bit wet, maybe the oil wasn't quite hot enough? Service was good, but we wouldn't rush back.

Popped in on a Wednesday around noon. Pub was quiet - to be expected - and staff busy with deliveries, but was served immediately. Had a great classic beef burger which was very fresh, with great hand cut chips. What impressed was the salad that accompanied it - a proper fresh salad drizzled in olive oil, not a few limp... We popped in here late on a Sunday afternoon while at a cycle event. The pub was surprisingly quiet. We were attended to immediately we sat down. The menu is good with a good variety or starters and mains. There was music playing all the time - a great mix of Scottish bands (not your usual tacky tourist style music... More

It would be easy to go into great detail about our visit here. However, this is a simple review to write, and can be summed up as...... A great lunch, great service, a wonderful friendly and helpful staff, well cooked food, excellent choice of drinks, well priced and the first place we will visit on our next journey to Stirling.... The 2 staff members behind the bar were amazingly nice and so friendly! The Mac and cheese off the menu was great in size and tasted amazing! Very well priced as well! Very knowledgable on their local brews, both beer and cider. Very clean facilities. An amazing place, highly recommend!!!

Popped in on a rainy Saturday afternoon whilst shopping in stirling. Normally go to kilted kangaroo for lunch but a prolonged shower sent us in here..and so glad it did. Cosy inside..scottish fayre and friendly service. We both had fish and chips which was one of the best we've ate (and nd we've sampled many)... Would thoroughly recommend a wee... More

Nipped in for a late lunch and few drinks to see the renovation. As usual not disappointed New menu was good and New Scottish craft lagers even better. This pub just keeps getting better and better. Had another great day/night. Keep up the good work.
