You could well pass this place by, but that would be a mistake. Extremely good food served by very friendly staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. Be warned that if you have the soup and sandwich, you will not have room for a cake, which would be a great pity

This lovely coffee shop and farm shop is tucked away. Fortunately it was recommended to us. Lovely coffee, delicious cakes and biscuits and very friendly staff.

Although we had to wait 30mins for a table , the food was worth it. We both had soup and sandwich combo. Best soup I think I have tasted cauliflower and butterbean. Super cakes also. Super farm shop, furniture shop and funny cards also.

This is where we take visitors because we are always sure of a good meal at a price we can afford. I think Edinburghtravelers must be writing about a different place! The farm shop is still excellent and expanding, the food is delicious, the service fantastic and the fact that it is always very busy, no matter whether it is... More

Stopped for brunch, delicious fresh scrambled egg / bacon etc. Didn't have a cake but they looked fab. Not as overpriced as some other farm cafés.

We've been visiting the Coffee Bothy for years and have never had a meal that we did not enjoy. The soups are especially good - in decent sized portions as well!

The menu is tired and drab and the quality really poor. The quiche was pretty tasteless but what made it worse was the fact that it had obviously been microwaved as it was soggy. Two portions of macaroni cheese were over cooked and dried out. Sandwiches were all bread and little filling. Prices are very high for what it is... More

Great food, cooked well, service good. Fresh and decent choices. Not massive amounts but what's available comes from the local farm and is fresh and of high quality! Friendly and consistent service.

It's still part of the farm it sits on and as well as the coffee shop/restaurant there is a store for all foods and cards and furniture and knick knacks which are produced in Scotland. There is always good service and delicious food. Husband had the full Scottish breakfast (served until 12) as we made it to the table a... More

Picturesque setting, lovely (but pricey) farm shop. The cakes were nice although the Victoria sponge was generously dusted with plain flour rather than icing sugar which was a tad bizarre - but obviously not an issue. Scones were fresh, but tiny. Other cakes looked a bit sparse, and there was only a couple of slices left. I suspect we came... More
