The burgers ok fish and chips good but some dishes quite poor hence the title. Service is poor usually slow and amateur always someone new without a clue. Decor is drab and needs some work

Have used the D&D many times but on this occasion we booked our daughter's 21st birthday party here. Couldn't have been better. We were well looked after and the buffet excellent. Our friends agreed and said we will return. Thanks to you all.

I have popped in for a beer and a snack lunch on several occasions since it re-opened and always been very satisfied and felt welcome. This week was the first time I had ordered a main course. I thought the liver and bacon (£9.20) was outstanding and compared very favourably with the same dish ordered in a couple of favourite... More

Have been back for lunch on a Couple of occasions, food is always fresh and homemade with a great range of specials, the chips are to die for and although I do not eat ploughmans it was... More

I had looked for somewhere nice for Sunday lunch as we were flying from Gatwick on the Monday morning and staying up in a hotel the day before. I actually found this pub on trip advisor so booked it. Four of us went for lunch which I have to say was up there with one of the best Sunday lunches... More

I hadn't been back after it's re-opening until I took a group of cyclists in here after a 12 mile ride around the country a couple of weeks ago. It was so good I went back last weekend just to check I hadn't found it so good because I was starving and cold! I hadn't! Delicious generous portions, extra gravy,... More

Met a friend here for lunch today. Lovely real fires, cosy atmosphere. £9.95 2 course lunch including a drink. Great value for money with fresh, tasty food. We are planning to come back regularly

Having recently re-opened the Dog & Duck was recommended to us by friends. We found the atmosphere cosy, staff very friendly and efficient, a good selection of beers and the food exceptional. There were nine of us in total, enjoying five different Sunday roasts. They were all well presented, served piping hot with plenty of roast potatoes and four seperate... More
