Family meal for eight

Went here for a family meal for eight and had not been there for years. A great meal a lot of choice some real old fashioned favourites, done modern style like the bubble and sqeek. Very good service not rushed and very friendly. Only thing we did not like were the terrible chairs!

I've been to the Shipley Bridge several times not because it is good just because it is convenient. At one point when we complained about the quality of dishes the manager after used to come over and apologise this happened so frequently it became embarrassing. That is not a problem now they have no qualms about serving poor food and... More

I have been here many times with friends, but not family. My son was home for a couple of days, and my husband and I decided to take him the Shipley Bridge for lunch before he left. We went on a Saturday lunch time, and as usual, were greeted by the friendly staff and offered drinks promptly. My son had... More

THE REFURBISHED INN IS OK IF YOU DON'T WANT TO EAT! My wife ordered a steak with salad, but the salad looked like grass cuttings! When I complained, a fresh salad was brought in a bowl and placed on the table, no attempt made to take the main plate away, by this time the steak had gone cold so she... More

Had a lovely, relaxing Friday evening meal here a couple of weeks ago. Staff were very friendly, and really made us feel at home. Food was great - tried the seaside platter from the summer specials menu which was a real trip down memory lane. And battered mussels were a revelation! Definitely want some of those again!

Once a month a group of ex colleagues meet for a meal and a chat. This week we chose the Shipley Bridge. Food was excellent, nothing left on the plates at the end. Surrounding were great and comfy chairs. We will certainly be back.

The Shipley Bridge has recently undergone a makeover and looks terrific. I have sampled the Sunday roast on two occasions and both the quality and quantity were excellent. The roasties were perfectly cooked as were the vegetables and the turkey with gravy was delicious. The service was great and the staff very friendly. I would highly recommend a visit to... More

My wife and I visited this pub recently on a cold & wet Sunday. We have been several times before and have always been pleased with the food and service. OK it's not fine dining but just good honest pub grub. Reading some of the recent reviews perhaps we have just been lucky? We tend to eat later in the... More
