Six at the Fox

Just a follow-up review, a local pub for us. We had lunch in the garden as a couple in April and came back as a family a couple of weeks later on a Sunday early evening. Impromptu visit, hadn't booked and staff were happy to accommodate us and re-arranged some tables to sit the six of us. Everyone... read more

Had a meal with a friend at the Fox Revived last night. The staff were extremely hospitable and accommodating but the food left a bit to be desired. A number of items were not available which was a shame and the waitress was very apologetic. My dinner was ok but my friends was a bit over done. Such a shame... More

So we went for dinner and the internal decor is very nice. We were then given a lengthy list of what was off the menu due to a stock shortage. The mains were quick to arrive and were ok. My steak was well cooked but it came with some dried out mushrooms and a child's size portion of chips. My... More

We needed somewhere to spend a while between checking out of our hotel and going to pick my mother up from hospital nearby. We tried a couple of other places that we knew of but they were not open for coffee, then we came across the Fox Revived and they were serving coffee. We settled into some comfy seats with... More

Extremely disappointed.. Came for Sunday lunch to cheer a friend up and quite frankly we left more upset than to begin with.. I booked a table for 3.30 as we were told this was the only time they could fit us in, but arrived to possibly 4 other tables that were occupied.. We were shown to a table by the... More

Went for lunch. Manager was rude. Felt like I shouldn't have been there. Ordered vegetarian burger.. Which was just mash potato in roll with one bit of lettuce.. certainly not as described in the menu. Kitchen was playing dance music.. which drowned the music in the seating area. Won't go again

Most interesting. I took a number of my colleague to the Fox Revived. Being a Friday one would have thought that they had been geared up for guests? Forget that. Over one third of the items on this limited menu were not available and when the order came it was not correct. I must at this point apologies to the... More

Popped out for lunch at the Fox. Lovely sunny day, pub was quiet so had pick of garden tables. Burger and fish pie were both very good. Food took a while to arrive but we were in no rush, burger was missing its bacon but this arrived quickly when prompted. Service very friendly, drinks very refreshing. Easy parking. Nice layout... We spent an excellent three hours here for a Sunday roast. The staff were attentive, the beer was kept well, the food arrived perfectly presented and piping hot. This is a lovely family, and dog, friendly pub. A little off the beaten track, but we'll worth finding.
