Lunch in the Garden

Popped out for lunch at the Fox. Lovely sunny day, pub was quiet so had pick of garden tables. Burger and fish pie were both very good. Food took a while to arrive but we were in no rush, burger was missing its bacon but this arrived quickly when prompted. Service very friendly, drinks very... read more

We spent an excellent three hours here for a Sunday roast. The staff were attentive, the beer was kept well, the food arrived perfectly presented and piping hot. This is a lovely family, and dog, friendly pub. A little off the beaten track, but we'll worth finding.

I hadn't been there since the changes and was amazed by the decor. It has the lovely modern feel yet still makes you feel you are in the country. The service was great and the food was amazing. The best part was we were allowed to take our dog with us and we loved the mini shop of treats and... More

When the table next to you sends their main courses back as they are cold, you have to wonder whether it’s a one-off or whether your meal will be equally disappointing – in our case it was the latter. The menu described it as “Hand carved pink sirloin of beef” – what arrived was one slice (yes, you read that... More

We frequently visit this establishment and have never had a bad experience, my husband and I came for a meal on Saturday night. The staff were very attentive, the food excellent as usual. We both had a lovely time. Steaks were cooked to perfection, cheesecake dessert was lovely, will definitely be returning

I found the service to be overall quite poor. I asked for Kopparberg cider, received Magners. The girl serving us was both miserable and constantly putting the food and drink next to the wrong person (even when told who's is who's) We spent a fair bit of time doing her job for her. All our roast dinners arrived less the... More

Visited on Mothering Sunday with my mum and our family. Whole pub was clearly very busy. Staff where friendly, welcoming and attentive. Food was lovely, only took a short time to come out despite how busy they where. A lovely country pub. Only negetive was that it was quite noisy, but then it was Sunday. We will definitely be back... We booked for Mothering Sunday lunch after a very good Christmas day at the Fox revived. Wish we hadn't. What a disappointment really I don't know how it has gone down hill so much. Arrived at 2.15pm and table was in the bar entrance not the main pub, they had no Prosecco or champagne left as apparently been a manic... More

Despite the lovely staff we were deeply disappointed by the standard of the food at what we hoped, being sister of The Jolly Farmer, would be a good meal. We went for Sunday roast for Mother's Day. We waited 45 minutes for our food however the staff did come and apologise that this was due to a computer error and... More
