The staff were great, atmosphere really welcoming and the food was absolutely delicious. We visited this village pub as we were stopping in the area overnight before flying our on holiday from Gatwick. A gem of a place and highly recommendable.

Just a ten minute walk away from Trumbles guest house. Old character pub, with good menu and excellent food.

Having just been treated very badly at Fannys Farm we headed to The Half Moon for lunch. It's not exactly a gourmet pub, but the food is good and those serving us could not have been more helpful about dietary needs. We both enjoyed a good lunch and we heartily recommend the pub. It's very handy for those enjoying a... More

Stopped in for dinner before catching a flight, food was great, all homemade. Very welcoming. Didn't mind us sitting reading while waiting for food service.

I visited The Half Moon in Charlwood during a stop over at a local hotel near Gatwick. The place itself was pleasant although needing a little upkeep and the village seemed a very nice rural setting. When in the pub it was very clear that it was mainly locals who were there and they all seemed to crowd around the... More

Really lovely Sunday lunch to celebrate our anniversary. Great service, great food, and even great coffee!! What more could you want! And to top it off even though it was clearly a very popular place on a Sunday this didn't affect the service we received at all! They seemed to cope with ease. Already booked again!

Very friendly. Inside and outside dining areas. Food is not only tasty but interesting as well. Example: squid with lime-chili sauce (great!). More standard menu items also available. Large portions. Reasonable prices. 15-minute walk from Trumbles Guest House.

Had lunch again at The Half Moon before flying out for our holiday. This has become a bit of a ritual for us. The food is incredible and beautifully presented. The staff are so friendly and make you feel so special. Truly The Half Moon is well worth a visit, we most certainly will be back (again and again).

Visited Charlwood for the weekend after living there many years ago and to meet up with old friends, admittedly all my friends were all well known, but the food was the best I have eaten in a long time, beautiful broccoli and stilton soup followed by roast belly pork, mash gorgeous, if the locals use it a lot that is...
