We were there for a midweek lunch in the sunny courtyard garden at the rear of the pub. Will definitely return.

This place is a right find! I travel a bit with work and am tired of the bog standard chain hotels near the motorway. Search around a bit and you find places like these. Fantastic accommodation, beautiful countryside surroundings, excellent pub with great local ales, the food is brilliant and has never let me down, and breakfast is bang on!... More

We stopped for a quick lunch here en route, and were delighted with the friendly service, excellent food and beautiful courtyard. They are strong on nice extras and attention to detail, like the bread and superb marinated olives to start and the shot glass of Smarties with the bill. I had their chicken ciabatta from the snacks menu, with homemade... More

This is my second visit and hopefully not my last. Nice menu, food well presented and staff pleasant. Good wine list. All in all good middle range dining and chips as good as I have ever had!

My wife and I stopped by for something to eat at lunchtime yesterday, as they own other eating places that we are familiar with. My surprise was that my £6.50 crumble and custard arrived really cold, so much so, that I asked if it should be ! I was assured that it should be hot and they offered to heat... More

My wife and I stayed Thursday & Friday end of February as a return visit and a short break. Lovely restaurant well appointed with a staff who are knowledgeable regarding the menu and what goes into each individual item. One part of the restaurant can be a little warm as it has a large wood burner in the fireplace which... More

Having turned up unannounced we thought they would have no room, to my surprise they did and were able to provide a high chair. The starters and main course were nice, the calves liver were perfectly pink and the duo pork tasty. Good local beer on tap as well.

Had a lovely evening meal at this restaurant - but don't think it is a pub. The cosy relaxed and classy decor and traditional menu with some contemporary twists is definitely a country restaurant as the prices will show. Very professional staff who were knowledgable, friendly and easy on the eye made this a good evening out. House wine was... More

My lovely wife and I booked into one of their rooms. The menu looked and sounded lush, so we booked in for dinner too. A couple of hours later and a 'mini tornado' swept through meaning no power in the village. However, the staff were excellent, provided us with candles for our room, and invited all the guests into the... More
