My wife and I eat here on two of the three evenings of our stay in the Atlantic Hotel. We had good meals on both evenings. The staff were helpful and friendly although the manager can present as a touch surly at times. The other staff more than make up for this. On our first visit my wife had Plaice... More

Although this was special as it was a nostalgic visit to the Atlantic Hotel, the restaurant was lovely, for our Sunday lunch. The staff were really helpful, and the food as delicious and brilliant value for money. Lovely and relaxed, suitable with a 3 year old, yet classy too.

We ate in the garden across the road from Carringtons the Chef/ barman was lovely he told us there would be a wait for our sandwiches and coffee which there was half an hour but the salmon was indeed smoked and lovely and thick, ham was proper boiled ham thickly cut, chunky egg mayo and a nice cheese toasty large... Popped to the restaurant for a few drinks and sat in the beautiful outdoor area surrounded by stunning scenery . Unfortunately, our experience was ruined by the extremely rude gentleman serving who i can only assume was the manager, whose terrible attitude was borderline offensive. Despite its incredible location we most definitely will not be returning, very disappointing. Good manners... More

The service and food was exceptionally good. We had our two year old with us and were a little worried that the restaurant would be unsuitable. We were wrong. Despite the classical and formal table layouts, it was by no means stuffy - quite the opposite. Smart, professional but relaxed and friendly. The white wine was served at the right... More

I cannot agree with the reviewer 5th August. The staff at Carringtons will go out of their way to accommodate guests. The service is excellent as is the quality of the food. I can only assume the reviewer arrived ' out of hours' which would explain why the restaurant was empty. There are always plenty of people there when I... More

Ate here on several occasions during our stay including Sunday lunch. The table d'hote was excellent value for the quality, presentation and selection. Mark is a good host and very knowledgable. The other staff are friendly and attentive. The sevice is excellent. A special mention must be made of the trifle which my husband thought was the best he had ever... More
